What is the best and FRESH okey radiosystem to this rECEIVEr TODAY ?
Not over 300 us/euro please

If you want to retain and use that Spektrum AVC reciever. You need a Spektrum radio that runs DSMR. The cheapest with AVC capability is the DX5C. Having this radio myself, AVC is flawless, not only handles steering, but throttle, with control values on both. But if I were you the DX5 Rugged is the best right now at $200. Handles DSMR. I wouldn't like running AVC on all my rigs. Just my super fast rigs. My Tekno MT410 loves it the most.

My first DX5C had same issue with the power button out of the box. Sent it right back to Spektrum. Purchased direct from them. They replaced the radio and also sent me an additional Spektrum 6 channel Gyro rx along with it (AVR6000 DSMR with AVC).. Free of charge. That rx is worth $70. All I did was inquire about it when I warrantied the Radio.
I've had the DX5C for more than a year now and don't see the power button problem any longer. But that could be huge issue nonetheless. Initially I could have returned it. But took a chance on a replacement and was surprised to get their Gyro added for free. If that button became an ongoing issue it become a deal breaker. You are the first that I know who had the same issue. The DX5 Rugged improved the power switch design. And aside from its water resistant design is the same as the DX5C firmware and feature wise.
@bicketybam had the same issue with his DX5C, and I have seen a couple of threads on some other forums when doing a Google search about it, but it doesn't seem to be a common problem. I think I will send off a message to Horizon and see what they have to say about it.

Yes the Infraction comes with the Spektrum DX2E Active with AVC

DX2E is the cheapest AVC radio that I know of.

DX2E is the cheapest AVC radio that I know of.
It is the cheapest AVC Spektrum Tx ,yes. But understand that the feature rich DX5C, Rugged, R Pro and higher end Spektrums all offer multi channel AVC for both steering and throttle control. You need the extra channels to utilize that AVC Rx to its fullest.
Correct me if I am wrong, the DX2E only allows for steering autonomy, with no throttle control. You need an extra channel dedicated for 2 way addressability. This is per my DX5C manual at least. I have not seen the DX2E manual.
Spektrum radios aside , the Spektrum SRS6000 (AVC 6Ch) is considered one of the best gyro Rx for steering and throttle execution. Some don't like AVC. I get it. And I don't like it on my 1/10 scale stuff for some reason. I can tell you that with then without it the drivability is different. However, if properly tuned with a full feature radio you cannot even tell it there. That is the way it should be set up. You maintain full control when driving and not feel it taking over. You can't ramp up the settings. As they are sensitive and very responsive. If the rig oscillates left to right and throttle limiting becomes extreme you are setup wrong. If you have to battle the controls, the settings are way off. Gyro's are hard to explain. You have to try it yourself to understand it.

Oh I have no idea to be honest. Maybe someone with a DX2E can chime in about that. Doesn't @Rich Duperbash have the DX2E with his Infraction?

Yes, if your budget allows and you want to maintain that AVC Rx, its a great radio (pictured) The Rugged.

If I know Rich Duperbash by now, he probably is a purist and drives very well enough that he would disable AVC. Lol.
But I am sure that DX2E was boxed in there. I wonder what he thinks about.

The DX2E has been ok for the Infraction. Only issue last run at a Huge lot was range. Lost signal 2-3 times.

I did disable it for my entire first running video ?. Second outing I tried 30% and it felt nice ?. Much easier to do hard pulls and run straight with confidence. Also helped keep the back end from getting so squirrelly in hard drifts. Still required feathering the controls and felt challenging ?

I was referring to how the AVC works with the DX2E. I have a first gen AVC DSM DX2E but do not have an AVC receiver for it so I never messed with it.

Rich, have you had a chance to identify the SRS6000 rx.?
Does the DX2E AVC provide both steering AND throttle control. Or just steering? Because with my DX5C, I have control over both using the SRS6000. Just wondering if the boxed DX2E does the same.

I'm not sure ?. Thought it was steering assist only. That's what it feels like.

Thanks for sharing that!
In my DX5C manual there are two controls for AVC gain. One for Steering gain. And one for Throttle gain. They are independent of each other. Which makes much sense. I don't see that in the DX2E. I see one gain knob. And I am assuming only for steering. And According to my SRS6000 Rx manual and DX5C Tx manual, throttle AVC can be eliminated altogether in the Tx Gui menu. But steering requires a second bind plug permanently inserted to disable AVC steering completely.
I just questioned whether the DX2E is limited to AVC Steering. With no AVC throttle ability. The DX2E only has one AVC gain knob. And you cant adjust individual gains for both ST and TH with just one knob. Just trying to understand Spektrums AVC Rx and how it integrates with their various Tx's. DSMR spec'd radios are required for full AVC ability with this SRS6000 Rx. And two unused channels on the Rx must be available for full independent control of both ST and TH gain. My observations. Probably doesn't apply to most of us bashers any way.
There are many other brand gyros on the market. Not many incorporate TH. Just ST.

Thanks again for sharing(y)

I'm curious to know if it is just steering or both.

Sorta on topic, does Traxxas TSM do both throttle and steering?

On my SRR I have the steering set to 40% and the throttle set to 0%. But for a speed build you definitely want some throttle assist. I don't think the throttle assist is adjustable while using the DX2E, but maybe the knob is a mix of both.
