just got a kraton 8s

planning on putting the max5 combo, but what gearing would you guys suggest for speed, saw some with 44t, using spools, guess a lot you can do, im just new to this big scale rc

Good start with the 800kv combo. You can always throw more pinion on.

Congratulations on your purchase, it’s a nice rig.
Guys are running anywhere from 34-44 tooth pinions on the HW combos. Mine is a 39t and plenty fast, wheelies forever and backflips off of jumps.
You can use spool gears off the Limitless or order from Tekno or Saga. The saga pinions have the same footprint as the Limitless spool, can’t speak for the Tekno though.

I suggest running it stock to learn the beast then goto 25t since that is plenty in my opinion. Others have made major modes but I love mine with the 25t pinion gear. Enjoy it !
