Go to HW Direct site to learn more and what each does. The HW Smart Programmer also doubles as a Lipo Cell checker. If you don't have one yet. Much needed in any RC tool box. I personally prefer the OTA programmer. Both are fine.
I also have the card you posted above. I don't use it much. Only used for my OG Arrma BLX 185 ESC's. An old school stuff, Prog Card.
Spend the coin for one of the (2) I showed above. What HW recommends for the Max5 G2. Buy both if you can.....
I have the OTA, and sometimes you just don't want to open an APP on your phone . The programmer would be faster. The OTA is best for fine tuning less frequently, don't mind App support. Holding your phone. Personal taste I guess. They both adjust all the same parameters and do F/W updating.. OTA App is more seamless. prompts you there is a new F/W available.
