So this is my first on road and Electric Car build . Learning as I go. I'm sure I'll have questions as I go . But for now I'll start with throwing parts at her. So for the heart of my beast it's got a Castle1520,1650KV motor with a Castle Mamba Monster X8s ESC. Anyone know what the amp rating is on this thing is? I'm use to boats so when you get an ESC it actually tells you the amp rating . Also picked up a Protek PTK-170SBL servo. How are these servos I run Savox in my 1/5th scale BAJA. I've got 2 Revolectrix 4s packs and Ordered2 more SMC 4s Graphene packs.

Nice setup, any reason you went with the 1520 instead of like a 1717? The 1520 is a bit longer right?? Think you might have to do the battery tray delete and flip the motor mount .

just put a 1717 in mine the other day, barely fit! Haha

Interesting so according to their specs the 1520 is only 3mm longer than the 1717 but quite a bit skinnier. looking forward to see how it runs.

So Mocking everything up for right now. Yeah the 1520 is a tad longer. I did some minor grinding on a touch point as the motor goes in . I think when I actually loctite every thing in I'm going to pull the battery tray out so I can access the motor mount screws. I used duelloc velco to mount the ESC. Not sure what everyone else is using. I'm also waiting on Ripplekiller 8S cap packs and my 40mm heatsink and fans to get here. I've got OSE 8MM antispark connectors to go on when I solder in the cap pack.

As to why I went with the 1520 It was 10 dollars cheaper not that that really mattered. LOL. I saw a video of the 1717 mounted and it look like it was a possible issue with gear selection later on down the road . Figure with the 1520 at least I won't have any troubles with gear selection hopefully.

Think the video I saw was a guy running 34/34 and with the 1717 the upper part of the mount where the 2 screws were was only held in with 1 because the gear pushed the motor out.

So more parts showed up today.Carbon Parts from Island Hobby by Perfect Pass, Motor Heatsink fan assembly and the 8S RippleKiller Cap Pack

Heat sink and Fans installed.

Installed the servo

Got the Carbon Splitter and the Rear wing and Supports installed along with the side skirts and chassis stiffener.

What??? Why would you call a Cap Pack/ Cap Bank a Cat Pack? In FE boats they are called Cap Packs or a Capacitor Bank. I think I'll stick with that. Cap=Capacitor.
