Given that the 1721 puts out impressive numbers on any cell count I'd say its a great motor to use.

Mike has done some great 2s runs with it and we know it throws down on 8s also.
Yeah, and it is presoldered, can run into the 170s, and can maybe, maybe possibly, geared VERY low and on probably 2s, MAYBE MAYBE tolerate some street basing.

I've gotten it to 122mph in my Infraction on 3S so far and I maintain that it still has a few more mph in it. I'm not sure how suited it is to street bashing as I haven't tried it as such in that capacity, but I suspect it could do well.

Alright liberty i know you are the man so i need you to answer a question for me, whatever you pick is what im going with so i trust you fully.
i have a new limitless, on a spektrum god awful 6s setup, and 2 contending setups
one is a tp4060 1950kv suited for 6s speed, paired with a mmx8s and i think that could break the 130 most likely.
the other is the classic, the 1721 2400kv, XLX2 combo.
see i was thinking the 4060 would be a good stepping stone to start out on, seeing as i wouldnt have to do some serious mods for the 1721 (like resoldering lipos to qs8) And picking up the xlx2.
although if i just got all the crap pout of the way i could just start off with the 1721.
i dunno guys what do you think?

My vote would be for the XLX2/1721 combo and the move to QS8 connectors. It provides boat loads of power on anything from 2S-8S. The MMX8S would be your limiting factor in the other setup. I'm sure the TP 4060 would be a great choice of motor, but I suspect that it's a 5mm shaft and I think that 8mm shafted motors are the way to go. That's my take anyways.

I agree 100% with Diem's comments above.
However, I have noticed you are selling nearly every RC you own and if money is tight the MMX8s would work just fine for the 120-135 goal you have for now.
In the end the XLX2 and learning to solder QS8s is where you need to be.

Yeah, the LHS is great at soldering and they help me out sometimes.
i want to restart in the hobby, i noticed that the best cars i have ever built were the oldest, and it was overall easier to have only a few cars.

I have everything soldered for a 135mph car, maybe even 140mph if the mmx8s can really give me everything. Its already crap season here in colorado, so the limitless goes on the shelf until the next speedrun season.
ALTHOUGH this is colorado, that might not be all that long seeing as one year ago when i got my 1st limitless, i ran 91 with it on A spektrum 6s setup.
i would like to see 100mph out of this 150a 4074 setup, its got a little more to go yet, after that though (and that setup ain’t coming out until it happens, gotta learn to hit the goal i set) i think i will go tot he 4060 mmx8s, then ill move to the xlx2, THEN the 1721.

Figured I would add some updates to this thread,
Some new packs showing up for this season and some other stuff in the works. Always pushing for better products. These will be tested at the start of the season.
And Bob at shadow hobbies will be receiving a limited number of these.
The 6600 lhb packs are a limited run likely won’t get another batch. Preliminary data on these things show they are monsters.
