I really need to get better with amps and volts... OK I see

4282 2150kv list as 150A max AMPS so 1780kv 120A. With a HW Max6 ESC, it looks like the only pick would be 2150kv with 4282.
4282 3400 23V 150A 4 2.5A 0.0056 2150

4082 2000kv list as
4082/3D 3400 <21 160A 4 4.5A 0.0053 2000

If I am understanding you correctly....older 4082 2000kv at 160A is my best buy with my Max6 ESC...?
If you want to keep the kv up, you can gear a little larger motor up with a lower kv though too

The most important indicator of a motor’s performance is its physical size, so all of those motors likely perform about the same.

And none of them would tax a Max 6. You won’t even be close to stressing that ESC with a 4282 motor, regardless of which one you choose.

As I look at some of the pics here and other places for the Talion to an XL.

I see one flavor with the short-wing mount stock. Then I see some with the longer wing mount like on the Kraton. I have two options of 3DRC wing mounts shorter like stock or long.

Is there any particular reason or advantage for those who went longer vs. stock length?

Thx

The one closer to the wing is the talion’s normal mount. The one farther away may end up snapping easier but I’ve torn up a talion one too so I guess it’s mostly preference. I bet the 3drc ones would survive a little better being a little softer and flexible

I renamed the thread to say BIG THANKS!!!

I finally got to run the Tailon XL today. I know it is not a true Talion with the mods, but wow, does it fit me now. Trailer full of RCs at my Man's property, and I smoked him!

It was nice to walk away from his Typhon 6S v5, which he is all stock I could not, yet it still it was nice.

XL running
4074 2050kv >>> now HobbyStar 4082 2000kv
Changed the pinion from 16T >>> 17T

It was 60deg today, so a lot cooler for the south. The motor temps looked good all day. Summertime will really tell one reason I wanted to remove the stock 2050kv got a little hot but happy with the results outside of my bad soldering that killed me while on my 4th run

We were ready

Running the Talion XL back-back temp average red 119F (ESC) and blue 121F (motor) use temp probs. Of course not exact not the aim just to have an idea of what temps look like without using a temp gun

So pleased with the Talion, NOW!

Appreciate that on how well your stuff looks out there!! (y)

Unbreakable Kraton Bulldog body I got off Etsy. Stock look is best, but I just do not feel like drywall taping the body. I like these as bashers and use the stock for the shelf.
