Updating firmware in Firrma 4s smart ESC

Can I download the new firmware for a Firrma 4s smart ESC into my smart programmer on a friend's computer than go home and hook the programmer to the ESC to load the updated firmware into my 4s smart ESC. I wasn't sure if I needed to take the ESC with me or not. I thought I read on the spektrum page that I needed to hook the programmer with the ESC attached to the computer. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Similar process for all:

ESC needs to be connected to the programmer which requires a USB to PC connection as well.
There is no 'download to programmer' and later do the ESC.

Ok. That's what I thought bud. I just wanted to make sure cause I have to take the electronics to a friend's house to update on his computer. I have tablets and a chrome book which neither will work. Thanks
