I have just gotten my new motor in the mail. The X-team motor has many sizes and makes so I made a choice to try one on my kraton. I'm going to set it up on 4s and next some new wheels and tires

You're going to need a big pinion.

I am going to get 22t pinion LHS doesn't have 20t and I am going to run 1:5 rovan wheels very soon. I think the gear and wheels I am hoping it should be fast enough for race style bashing. I am not looking for top speed even though I do have my two 3s I run now

Thinking of getting one, what are your thoughts so far? Not familiar with these motors...
I thought I knew everything on my kraton and picked up wrong mod pinion. The quality looks good motor spins good wires are nice and heavy come with larger bullit connecters

Well guys I just got finished bashing the.1500kv xteam motor. I am kinda down about performance, I have it on 6s and a 20t pinion and it has no ass and not much speed. The stock motor would swell the tires so bad and this one will hardly do a donut sitting still. I am running 130deg at 80deg outside. Is it possible to get more or should I put stock motor back on and put high speed gear on it?

Are the motor/ESC wires A to A, B to B and C to C ?
No they are just colored, when I hooked motor up it run backwards swapped two and didn't change so I changed tx and rev throttle

I believe that is your issue. The ESC thinks it is in reverse. And that only gives about 50% power. My Hobbywing/Hobbystar combo has the phase wiring lined up inside to outside. With rotation CCW. And if memory serves me, the BLX was the same. That thing should rip with that motor.

I did try two wires and nothing but didn't try any of the other ones , I will give it a try.

I have gotten some replies from other people saying their 1480kv are rediculous fast but mine isn't. I know it's not a top line motor but should be somewhat faster than stock. I will go back and start all over and double check

I never reverse throttle. I would set it back and change the wires so that it runs forward when the throttle is applied. Hold the truck off the ground and check full throttle. Then check full reverse. If reverse is faster I would change the motor rotation in the esc. I had this issue once and I was screwing around with everything. At the end of the day, unreversing the radio throttle control and changing the motor direction is what fixed it for me.

i agree. stick with the basics. if the motor runs backwards, switch 2 wires around. its worked for decades, no need to change the ways.

I am going to do that first thing after I get some more heat shrink.i will get motor rotation correct and see about ESC settings and endpoints
