I’ve twisted stock shafts but it’s always been my fault. Never broken one. The stock shafts are very good!
Same here. They just bend. I've never broken a stock shaft or have never broken a pin on the stock driveshafts. M2C is working on some driveshafts for the Xmaxx. I'll see if I try those out.

I’m going to avoid anything m2c.
I hear you. I'll see. I just ordered some new axles and ends from one of the RC chop shops, so those should last long term 👍

Last time I did some big air, and sometimes when I have bad front crashes, the upper front bulkhead in the front usually breaks where the hinge pins go through. I noticed that some people ad YT guys did the two hinge pin plate hack. So I went ahead and did it. I did have to use an extra shim in front of the nuts that go in the middle because the bolts I bought didn't have threads all the way. That was my fault. Check it out. The drill bit to install the M2C shock stand offs works perfectly for this hack.

Extra tie bar from Bars&tone idea worked great at saving the upper bulkhead so far after one run :

I bent a rear shock shaft during the last jump session. This is only the second shock shaft that I bend in over two years of owning the Xmaxx.

So my shaft for my mod 1.5 gear on the spur side is bent. So I'm going to try out this shaft that BowHouse RC sells for 8mm mod 1 gears. In other words, you can use any big mod 1 pinion as a spur gear as long as it has a 8mm bore. I went with a 35T pinion and a 47T pinion (used as a spur gear) from powerhobby. The shaft looks like it's a quality product. I'll let everyone know what happens once I try it out.

Took my X-Maxx and K8S for some fun. I broke the bell crank in the Xmaxx. It must have been a rock. It was pretty old anyways :

How are you liking the 35/47? I cracked like an egg and decided to stick a max5/1100kv in mine over the winter, but I’m having a tough time deciding on gearing, thinking of 25/35 from vitavon.

It was fast enough for sure, but that shaft seems to have a wobble, so that destroyed my 47T spur gear. So I went ahead and put a 50T spur gear. So now it's 35/50 gearing. It's still very fast. But that shaft still had some weird play to it. It's working fine so far, but like I said, it has some kind of play and wobble to it that the stock spur shaft didn't. I'll keep driving it and check back. In that video, I ran 35/50 gearing.

Another bash session with 35/50 gearing. I like it. New spot was nice too :

I wanted to add that I had to put RPM hinge pins with a spacer on the inner upper control arms in the front so that I would spot having to put back that dumb captured hinge pin after big air :

Hey that’s not a bad idea at all. Last time I had my Xmaxx out one of those pins popped loose.

Yeah it is. I got tired of that pin sliding out of the arm. It will eventually slide out after every jump. If you haven't done the other mod (extra hinge pin plate on the upper bulkhead in the front), I suggest that you do that too. I was breaking upper bulkheads regularly until I did that mod 👍

When I lose a pin that I don't have (this time a rock broke the c hub and the hinge pin got lost), I just grab a longer pin and cut it down to size. No need to be buying those pins constantly 👆.

BTW, before destroying my chassis, I got 54mph with 35/50 gearing, so not slow at all. Yeah the last outing turned into a full rebuild due to a 10ft front flip that ended in disaster. All I was doing was jumping a small mound from one side to the other 🤦🤷:
