Here is a little build thread of my custom Typhon 4s.
It started with a standard 4s Kraton for my son.
Wasn't too happy with it because of the handling, especially the steering...
So after a lot of upgrading (better Savox servo, replaced steering bushing with bearing, 6s shocks etc.) I got the bright idea that the big wheels were also to blame
Put some buggy wheels on it to test and Yes! It drove much better
After convincing my son, the conversion to a Typhon began:
It was a great car with two minor flaws...
The first is that the BLX120 esc gets hot quickly.
Second, it suffered from input lag even though it uses DX5C transmitter with AT6100T receiver.
To get rid of those two problems I bought a second hand BLX185 ESC.
It is quite a bit bigger so fitting was a thing
Had to dremel away a plastic wire holder:
And drill an extra hole of 2.5 mm
The receiver box also needed some grinding because of the esc wires:
It all fits like a charm now :
Just a bit heavier (about 40g) than before, but it's worth it!
