Arrma RC's
  1. Infraction
  2. Kraton 6s
Finished converting my Infraction to 8S today. This is the only picture I have of the setup as I didn’t plan on starting a build thread.

It’s a pretty basic Max6 + Kr8ton 1250kv setup. Running two 4S 6000mah Rhino batteries that I bought from Hobbyking during their huge sale. Other than that and the Flysky receiver it’s all stock. I hit 67.4mph with this setup with a 27t pinion and my front splitter was ripped off. I also have not trimmed the wing and I raised the ride height pretty high. It has more in it I’m sure.

I only converted to 8S so that I can use my Xmaxx batteries in this car, and seeing how the battery trays are massive it just made sense. With this car you either have the option of spending $$$ on some huge 3S packs, or just go 8S.
My Max6 was brand new and I paid $0 for it, the 1250kv motor was $110 brand new with the fan. I sold my stock esc and motor so in total I spent $35 to convert to 8S.

The motor doesn’t get very hot and it has plenty of speed and torque. It drifts with ease and makes a ton of tire smoke. I’ll post a video of me burning the tires soon. So far so good with this setup, these cars should have came 8S from factory!

I need a spool in it next

I'm running HW xr8Plus (6S) in my LIm. I added both F/R upgrade stiffer springs and stiffer F/R sway bars. The splitter will get destroyed otherwise with added weight. A Spool will make it come alive for sure.

What kind, where did you get them?

All Arrma Lim/Infr. Upgrade stuff. From Arrma. (y) (y)
So they do make some, I feel dumb now... I asked before I even looked. ?

I’m a bit confused on which sway bar is which tho, it says wide or narrow... in different thicknesses ?‍♂️
The springs are pretty self explanatory.

Wide or Narrow SB refers to its location, F(narrow) or R(wide). The SB diameter thickness is a measured number. Obviously thicker is firmer/stiffer. The springs are rated lbf/in.. higher is stiffer/firmer.
Stock front 35mm springs are 27lbf/in. Stock Rear 40mm springs are 38lbf/in.

Started playing with 3D printing to see what I can do and printed out a 35mm to 40mm fan adapter for the hobbywing Max6. This means of course a YR Signal 10 fan can be bolted onto the esc, I feel like the install is clean enough but has room for improvement. I’m going to print a rock guard/velocity stack for it as well. But it works great so far.

not a big update because all the upgrades I want are either out of stock or not yet released. So just thought I’d buy this $37 gps speedometer from Amazon to test out. Comes with a nice quick release mount that secures it firmly to the car.

Printed a holder for the on/off switch on my Infraction and figured I’d try some other things like this esc mount and 8S Kraton motor fan adapter plate

the stock 50mm fan is kinda weak so I suppose this is meant for a couple high speed 30mm fans and the ducts just look baller.

I won’t stick with the red I prefer black so I’ll probably give these away to someone on here.

Thats really cool! (y)Why don’t you just paint them black if you want them black?
Do they also work good or just look sick? I’m thinking of replacing my weak 50mm fan with four (much more rpm) 30mm fans. If I do I might get in touch with you hahaha

I already printed black ones so I have no need to paint them, and I’m currently printing the adapter base in black

As far as if they work good, I can’t answer that. I saw another member put them on his infraction and thought they looked cool, I was hoping they would provide some sort of ram-air effect but I have no way to test it.

The benefit of a multi fan set up is some degree of redundancy. One fails...you still have another. It appears that larger 40 and 50mm fans spin slower, however CFMs are more, due to more surface area of the blade diameter and usually more blades with them. Always add up all the spec'd amp total draw of all your fans combined, if you plan on plugging directly off of your BEC. Don't overload the BEC.

If anyone was wondering what a yeah racing signal 10 fan sounds like with this turbine shroud on it, well, it sounds like a jet engine ?

Began finishing up my fan situation today. Here is the stock 8S Motor fan setup.

Here is what I will be using, twin Yeah Racing 30mm tornado fans.

Screwed them in place onto the adapter and added the ducts that I 3d printed. I had to use random screws I had lying around because the set that comes with the fans are not long enough.

Also began printing up the drag style wing but I need to work on my print settings because I’m not happy with the quality of the print

Installed these rock guards on my infraction today, I still have to do some trimming and filing to finish it off but hopefully it’ll keep rocks and pieces of tire from building up on the chassis
