Arrma will cancel ROLLERS totally? So now its time buy some LAST rollers like Limitless and 8S EXBs ?

As much as I hate the idea, it kind of makes sense. People like us who buy rollers are the minority. Most RC drivers simply don’t have the interest or ability to customize and build. RTR is where the money’s at.

I’d bet Arrma would sell far more Limitless cars if it came RTR.
Must not be too much of a minority Hobao sells and has sold every single model as ready to run or a roller.
This doesn't even include the nitro models.

If it was more common and profitable, then every manufacturer would do what Hobao does.
Tamiya makes ready to run and kits of all their vehicles no other manufacturer does that either doesn't mean it doesn't work. Some manufacturers only make kits no ready to run vehicles. Why because that business model works for them.

For small hobby shops to carry both RTR and Rollers takes up a lot of space, imagine having 10 of each model.

Are they good cars? How is US parts support?
That is the big hesitation. I quite enjoy buying parts from places like Jenny's RC and other sellers on eBay.
Getting parts for Hobao is significantly harder.

For what I do in the speed world the VTE2 has been nothing but amazing!

Overall for on-road I really like the flat bottom chassis which makes for swapping over to a full carbon chassis much more simplified (not having the front kick up angle on the chassis.)

Yes they are good cars. Parts support seems to be like any other rc brand out there as far as online availability. They don't have a large presence in hobby shops though.

Jennys sells parts for some of the Hobao vehicles. https://jennysrc.com/search?type=product&q=hobao

They could keep the rollers online only.

For all you people crying that the sky is falling, please remember -
The Kraton, Typhon,Talion RTRs have been "Discontinued" 4 times now... Outcast RTR has been discontinued 3 times. The Granite, Senton, BBRC BLX3s have been discontinued twice...

Nearly every year, Arrma will "Discontinue" their entire lineup to release the new versions with a new part number.

Until Arrma removes the cars from their website (and all rollers still show on the Arrma-RC.com site), I would assume any "Discontinued" on the HH site is just out of stock till the next version gets released.

Well, #@$&, I haven't been around here lately, haven't had time for rc. So I guess I must cry some now too😭. Then only thing I want to buy from Arrma is rollers. Kraton exb and Mojave exb were my last 2 Arrma purchases. I wish they came as a kit with all their best parts in it, a Team Arrma EXB/TLR kit Talion, that would be awesome for me and I would buy it. Just like the good old days w no radio or electronics , unpainted body and no fluids. I realize newbs want a RTR, and RTR pulls more people into the hobby which is good to keep the hobby companies around. It is too bad they can't please us both.

I just ordered a 8SO today. I don't want the rtr crap under powered electronics.

Would be nice if HH upgraded their poop electronics.
Nice and Profitable are rarely used in the same sentence....

+1
If the business model works, and the Brand is in tune with their Customer base, the brand will sell whatever their offerings are.
A win win for some brands. There is much we don't know about Arrma sales volumes. Closely held data. The bean counter deptartments are in ultimate control.
I was starting to think that Arrma's offerings/selection are getting too bloated. Confusing to the Potential cutomer. And some of their models will always be slower sellers than others.
Businesses in general are feeling the Economic pinch. I think many brands will have to adjust and trim down their inventory and models. To keep afloat.
Even the used car market, which is in short supply, is slow right now. People are not spending $$ on non-essentials and luxury items. Selling their cars and pawning possesions to pay their bills. Inflation hurts. A recession is coming if not here already.

Edited.

Just my 2 cents:
There's plenty of sellers on EBay who offer roller/sliders of just about every Arrma model. Just search Arrma roller or slider. Don't know where these folks are getting the full vehicles from but if somehow they're paying a wholesale price due to buying in bulk and then removing the Spektrum poop then it must be profitable for them...and Arrma as well if its the actual supplier. I doubt one of the EBay sellers walks into a LHS and says give me 20 or 30 of a certain model then pays close to retail.

On another note Arrma has to be paying attention to the fact that the aftermarket manufacturers of their parts seem to do extremely well. Most of the people looking for rollers probably wind up dealing with the M2C, Scorched, JustBashIt, Hot Racing, GPM, etc folks at some point. Its to the point now where you can literally build an entire "Arrma" car with no actual Arrma parts. I always wondered how that affected Arrma and their business model. They seem to be the brand of choice for the aftermarket sector...no other brand comes remotely close when looking at aftermarket upgrading and parts. Its one of the reasons I choose Arrma as a brand. I like Hobao and Tekno (A LOT) but I'm nervous about jumping on both because of this. Arrma is readily available online and in LHS whether you go stock or aftermarket. The customization factor in Arrma makes them superior to the other brands IMHO. If they stopped selling all the rollers I could piece my own "Arrmas" together using the aftermarket sector.

The sliders are nice but I think you definitely end up spending more once you factor in the cost of tires and a body.

This is true unfortunately...LOL But as a now 50 year old man I've noticed that in THIS world you rarely get anything you really want without paying some kind of premium for it...especially if you want something customized to your exact demands. The RTR market has its place for sure but you can't leave out the rollers. The roller/aftermarket upgrade piece is the next level of the hobby where most of us wind up at some point.

I think the only thing you can't get aftermarket are the diff internals.
