I don’t understand why the momba monster x 2200kv motor is rated up to 15lbs and the same esc with the 1800kv is only rated up to 11lbs. Does anyone know? I want the 2200 combo but it’s been back ordered for awhile now but I can get the 1800kv combo. I want to put it in my new Tekno ET48.3

It's because the motor on the 1800kv version is smaller. Here's the dimensions:
Length: 67.7mm
Diameter: 40mm

Compare that to the 2200kv motor which is:

Length: 75.4mm
Diameter: 40mm

The larger motor will likley have more torque and therefore will be rated for a heavier car. I would take Castle's recomendation and not run the 1800kv motor in a 1/9 scale larger/heavier than a buggy.

Have you considered other 1/8 systems since the Mamba monster is out of stock?
Higher kv more torque.
The opposite is true actually. A higher kv means the motor spins faster per volt but will have less torque. It's like comparing a diesel engine to a petrol engine, the petrol engine will be able to spin at higher RPM but will have less torque than the diesel.

The 2200kv motor will have more torque due to it's larger size.

*edit @leo248 beat me to it.

Castle does funny things with their motors. I attribute their motors for much of the confusion around KVs and motor selection.

Castle motors are all different sizes.
2200kv 1515 1y wind = 40x75.4 mm
2650kv 1512 1y wind = 40x67.7 mm
1800kv 1512 1.5y wind = 40x67.7 mm
3800kv 1410 1y wind = 36x52.7 mm

You can see above that the 2200kv has a longer can. More can size = more torque and power handling.
Not necessarily related to the KV although that plays a part.

Compare that to TP Power where you can have one motor size and multiple KV options.
For example taking same sizing as the Castle 2200kv 40x75 size the TP4040 is a very close match with 18 KV options to suite your needs:

That’s a shame as if you were UK/EU based I could of helped.

Are there no dealers in Canada?

Yeah we have quite a few around me but no one has the combo. I can get them separately but don’t want to pay the extra money

Are you looking for a sensored setup?
What was the price of the combo you were looking at?

If you don't care about sensored then id go with:
TP Power has a 4040 (2100kv) in stock for $98.00
Mamba Monster 2 esc (my preference over the MMX)

May I ask why mm2 over mmx?

May I ask why mm2 over mmx?

I didn't care much for the MMX
Lots of people run it and love it so take my words as a grain of salt.
For me its just hard to beat the simplicity & reliability of the MM2

1. MMX Runs hot (according to data logs/ never matched IR temp gun measurements)
2. Sensor plug pops out and ESC shuts down.
(you can see here the power switch is part of that plug)

I am sure there are some easy solutions to this like glue etc, but I overall liked the MM2 better. (except the data logs on the MMX are nice to have)

Thank you I always say simple is better and I don’t care about data logs

I also think the mm2 is better. I have a mmx in my rc8 but for bashing the mm2 is a better choice. With the castle link you can seriously do everything the other can, its just not sensored and for bashing is it really necessary? Im thinking of puting my tekin t8 in my outcast but I'm just not sure cause it says to only run 4s on it and i have been running 6s so i don't want to be shocked on how slow it is.
