I run a 3300KV with 17T pinion on 3S on a Granite Mega. Plenty fast for me. Temps around 130-140F in Florida Heat.

I'm running a 3800 Kv motor and the equivalent of 27/91 gearing. I have heat issues on both 2s and 3s.

Actually I am running 17/57. Because of the 57t spur, dropping the pinion from say 17 to 15 only changes the ratio from 3.35 to 3.8. I would need to find an 11t 32p pinion to make a significant change. And going with a larger 32p spur isn't really an option because the 57t barely fits.

That would give me a ratio of 57/11 (5.18) in 32P. That's close to 91/17 (5.35) in 48p.
