Max6 and max5 firmware update

Been trying to upgrade my firmware on my max5 and max6 but it seems the firmware button is greyed out when connecting to my pc. I can modify the esc settings no problem but I am unable to upgrade the firmware. I have tried two other PCs with the same result. Currently both the max5 and max6 are on firmware 1.39. Is this the most current software version and that is the reason there are no other upgrade options?

More likely than not, you have the latest firmware installed already.
No need to update.

Why do we both show a different version for the firmware
Now I need to check my other Max6.

-edit- The firmware for my program box isn't up to date.

My other Max6 shows B1.39

Most likely, they had parts issues and needed to adjust firmware to address issues. New doesn't always mean 'better', just different.

my main reason for trying to upgrade is some users in another thread stated they updated there max6 to remove the double tap to reverse

Firmware update addresses issue with hesitation while rolling backwards.
