Picked up a V2 Mojave for a bit of a steal off eBay - condition was largely unknown and the description was limited - but it looked in such good condition, I thought it was worth a punt.

Here’s the description and auction photos.

Turns out it was a safe bet and my gut feeling was correct - it has hardly been used.

So, have been collecting bargains and so far I have:
  • Stripped it down completely and am rebuilding on an EXB chassis
  • EXB towers and stand offs installed
  • EXB Ackerman plate, CRCU carbon top plate, EXB upper hinge pin holder
  • Steering tower bearings installed
  • ESC plate reinstalled
  • Am putting a stock BLX 185/2050 motor in with the speed pinion - it came with a HW 4985/1650 motor in there. I might pick up a Max6 to go with it at some point.
So, it’s going well and I will post some build photos when I remember to take some!

Thank you!

I have Max6/1650 in my Talion and Kraton and they are amazing. I will see how the stock setup goes - will keep my eye out for a Max6 though.

Right, I think we are there! Should be ready for a test tomorrow!

I haven’t sorted the shell out yet, that’s next 👍

Nope! Not here to sell you anything… but.. if you don’t like spending money over and over again on Mojave bumpers… cause they break… over and over… then check out 3DRC :)

Or don’t.. and replace your broken stock ones more frequently.

Just trying to help you out 🤷🏻‍♂️

Final job was to sort the shell out - the previous owner loved stickers and I don’t, so have thinned them out a little.

Waiting for the Scorched fenders to arrive and will get them fitted.

I haven’t decided on whether I am going to keep it or flip it at this point.

Scorched RC fenders installed after a considerable amount of swearing.

Cutting them out is fine, fitting them is fine, fiddling around getting the posts modified and then getting the shell to fit is a fiddlestick on.

Gonna be honest…. Didn’t think cutting the Scorched Rc wheel wells were bad… done 3 sets of them so far tho…. The cut lines should be visible from the bottom and with fresh scissors, should be not a bad job… not picking on you… maybe I got lucky each time…. but I have heard this a few times… wonder if some are a little thicker so they are just harder to cut? Or the cut lines are not as visible?

I think the trick also is to take little bites with the scissors…. Snip snip snip snip with the back of the blades, instead of chomp, move some, chomp, move some…. Idk… just my experience…

Either way, very clean build…. Nice job! 👍🏼

Recent updates:

HW Max6/1650kv and 22T pinion installed to replace the Arrma BLX185/2050kv combo that was in there. It is, to use a technical term, mental 😬👍

This evening, I have been busy covering myself in Gorilla grab adhesive. Shell needed some repair work anyway, so did the whole lot - which takes considerably longer on a Mojave than a Kraton or Talion!

So things went well with the yellow/green body - weighs a tonne but is strong as a rock!

I have had a bunch of problems with the wheel nuts unwinding and wheels coming off and losing said nuts.

M2C to the rescue hopefully with 2Mm extensions and double nuts to screw it down tightly.
