No BLX 185 to replace your faulty BLX 180

HEY GUYS!

Sorry to be announcing that but for now,and the close future,arrmas not gonna be replacing any blx 180 by the new blx 185 comming in late march.I called customer support today to have mine replace and they told me it wasnt in theyre plan not for now or the near future.Instead he told me that they were waiting on a new shipment of blx 180.i wont share my felling with you no that.....ive done it in another thread.i just wanna make sure people waiting to claim a new esc in the hope of having a new 185 would see that.for my part im going hobbywing!!

Uhhh i knew they will not replace it with the new BLX 185
I called them right away when my Talion arrived
They told me the same thing
If you send in your 180 ESC
They will send you the same 180 ESC
When they told me that crap that ill throw away that ESC and get a new combo instead
So max8 has just arrived heheheh

Just for the record tho I'm still happy to have an Arrma Talion
It takes more than an ESC to steer me away from it

I talked to someone today that said they have no idea at: hobby services or hobbico what ESC arrma is sending. That they have had several meetings with them and no straight answer has been given to them. But they do know that some have been sent. And could possibly be there already. I was told to expect it within the next couple weeks. Is this good news or just another way to keep us waiting?

Set up my RMA ESC replacement after I started experiencing 6 blue flashes and reset loop. I found that if I seperated the tabs on the esc dean connectors the truck would run again. Anyone else experience this? Arrma would not comment on 180 or 185 for the replacment. Think I am just gonna go castle 8th sidewinder combo and use the blx motor and esc replacement as a back up. Thoughts?

Mine just quit right out nothing. How is the sidewinder 8th on the talion compared to a hobbywing max8. About the same price range. Any and all thoughts welcome. Im gonna have to bite the bullet soon and just buy an ESC.

From what I have seen so far ( buddy just pulled the trigger on the upgrade) the castle sidewinder looks legit. Paired it with the 16 tooth and running 6s it would stand staight up and much better throttle response.

Going to run a side by side tomorrow with my stock setup.

Everything I have read has said hobby wing is good but the castle system is better. I guess it is a matter of opinion for the price.

I was thinking the same thing. My shop told me the castle esc will work fine with the existing motor. I an going to get the combo though $180 and I have $10 off. Hard to start with the mods so soon I was really hoping the electronics on this rig would hold up. Bummer.

Ya i knew they were hit and miss. Was just hoping to get couple months before they pooped out on me. Well if one doesn't show up in the mail by next Saturday. Off to the hobby shop I go.

i just installed the max 8 combo in my senton....!!! wow just wow...even my girl friend jaw dropped to the ground! i cant speak of castle coz i never had one....the price was not that much different.but reliying on the guys i spoked to who had hb electronic i decided to make the move,with a bit of apprehension i must say,but,reminding of what i read and the comment i got,from racers,drone flyers...i went ahead,and i can tell you that im not dissapointed.I was expecting smoother acceleration,less lag start from dead stop,stability in performance,direct reverse /forward......but i wasnt expecting that much of a difference in power ,both in speed and torque (keeping the same setting 16 p)even if the stock motor has four pole and is a 2050 kv instead of the 2200 hw,surprisingly the hobbywing is more torquey and has higher rev than the stock engine(i bought a 15 t pinion before installing just in case ...i didnt wanna loose that precious grass rippin ,rock spitting torque!!but i ended up my 16 tooth pinion ...damn!!! my senton is not the same truck anymore....it only touched the ground for 2 second before gettin airborne again!....sorry guys but im totally addicted i got the feeling that i finally got what i paid for....as for reliabilty...time will tell.when i get some sparred time ill create a thread for the max 8 combo with a running video compare to my friend stock senton!! ,what i tink etc... im not a specialist...but ,if that can inform someone the way i would ve like to be, than im glad:for all that j zteed and darack ,and comparing your two options,specs,commentary.....................i would go max 8!

Thanks for the info sounds like max8 for me too. I was picturing my talion driving threw my yard as i read your post. I gotta stop dreaming and jusy buy this thing already. Lol. Looming forward to the running vid.
