I was thinking about getting a bigger pinion for my Mojave 4s but I've also seen where your timing and punch settings can achieve the same performance enhancements!?
Can someone please explain to me the positives and negative's of both thanks!

Gearing is the primary determining factor for speed.

Timing affects speed a little, and heat a lot. Keep it low.

Punch affects immediate acceleration but has no impact on speed. Higher punch gives instant acceleration but is harder on the drivetrain.

All increasing the timing will do is give you a very modest gain in performance and generate a lot more heat. Gearing up is where you will get all your real gains and motor fans will most likely be necessary if you are pushing the limits.
