What are good battery connectors I don’t want to end up with junk
For speed running, these:

Perfect Pass QS8-V2 Anti-Spark Connector Set (5 Pack) Male & Female + Wire Covers (4pc x 5) / New and Improved Version of QS8-S Connector / 600A Burst/Gold Plated 8MM Bullets QS8-V2! https://a.co/d/5FcrOBz

Thanks that’s what I needed

I run QS8 for speed runs.

The generic Amazon connectors are OK, but I would just go to Radio Control Power and buy known quality. The website is a bit jinky but they are legit.

Or get the Perfect Pass connectors.

You can run 8mm bullets too. They are more compact and easier to solder, but you don't get the anti-spark features. If you go with the 8mm bullets, don't mess up the polarity!

Buy more than you think you will need. Some will get messed up along the way.

As with any wiring, double and triple check it before you plug it in. Earl Moorhead had a video of him roasting a car. He is a really good builder and driver but we all make mistakes. Kudos for posting it. Click on the pic for the YT Video.

Raz Shifrim did a build series. This should be helpful.

A couple of notes.
1. He is using a V1 Limitless, so you won't need to cut the battery tray. But make sure your batteries fit.
2. The shock limiting with the nitro tube works. But there are better ways.
You can buy better springs (Perfect Pass & Redondo Beach RC).

I used nitro tubing inthe back and rubber grommets in the front.
3. I left the aero 100% intact until it became a limiting factor. Then trimmed it a bit, than a bit more. I didn't hit the aero limit until ~120 MPH.

This might help you on the setup, if you have some spare material laying around.

So the speed hobby is different than the rc hobby 🤔
So many things apply to the speed side that are non-issues for the rest of the hobby.

-Needs 300+ amps connectors
-Can run for 10 seconds and needs cool down
-Needs a perfectly smooth road
-Warm your lipos for best performance
-Higher KV motors for the voltage being used (part of the heat issue related to point 2 above)
-low to the ground
-stiff suspension or no suspension

Eh, that's sounds a bit odd. You don't want a speed hobby, it usually ends in jail, followed by rehab and a divorce.

We call it speed running, which now that I say it out loud sounds like it could involve a cigarette boat in Florida. ... never mind.

Anyway if you want to go fast you have to start thinking about how the car reacts with just about everything and adjust your setup. Sometimes you might

I will add
  • Shake downs and practice are critical.
  • Setup your ESC and transmitter, steering/throttle delay, steering dual rate, throttle/brake curves, probably other things too are useful.
  • Transmitter range becomes and issue quickly.
  • Battery health is important. The are much more expensive, check them often, don't abuse them.
