The only thing I don't like about using the 14mm stock hexes is that the hexes themselves are junk. I can't tell you how many of the grub screw have stripped on me.

I bought some longer grub screws that helped a little but every time I tighten them it's still up in the air

Interesting. Why are they stronger?
Here is the normal 3S axle

Here is the Typhon axle

The big difference here to me is with the normal nut on stud style which is smaller in diameter than the Typhon style. Also the Typhon style has a grub inside almost making it a solid piece. Plus you get to use 17mm nuts. All around way better solution.

Thinking of putting these on pre-order. direct fit. No 12mmhex with 17mm adapter needed.

Just mounted 1/2 offset 2.8 belted Duratrax Six Packs (17mm version using with Typhon axles/hexes). They are about 10mm wider diameter than 2.8 Badlands. Haven't tested yet but I like the aggressive look.

Did you swap out dhocks or just switch to the aluminum bodies?

2 options. Replace the axle ends with typhon parts, or get an adapter. Both are listed in this thread.
Or you can buy the wheels with 14mm hubs.

(Belted)

Oh that explains a lot then. Personally, I will likely go for the belted version with the 14mm hubs. the third option from above. no extra parts are needed, less ballooning than the non-belted version. Good luck.

Sorry, off topic, but I'm just hoping for a quick answer.
I don't have access to measure, doEs anyone know off the top of their head, or has quick access to measure, how big is the battery tray on the BRCC?

Here is what the recommended battery size recommendations are: 2S or 3S Lipo (Hardcase only) within dimensions 165 x 51 x 48mm / 6.5 x 2.01 x 1.89 inches

Wow. Seeing them side by side. Why they didn't come on there from the start I don't know. Or maybe they're laughing knowing they knew we'd be buying new wheels anyway.
Exactly! They learned a lot from Traxx ass.?
