After all the cartwheeling I've been doing in my Typhon, I'm starting to think that shorter arms are tougher than longer arms, but at the cost of travel. Something to consider when you're deciding what you're optimizing in your build.

Can you set it up to try both and just stick with whichever one you like better?
It’s a little bit of taking another car apart but it’s probably what I’ll do. Leaning toward the typhon arms with Kraton axles carriers because of the weight savings and it will be close to what a 1:10 scale truggy would be.
mojave arms, they are stronger
I agree but this cars wb is only 11.3-11.5” which is around 1.5” or so smaller than a trugified typhon is. Proportions might be better with the shorter arms. I will try both and see what I like.

I think with that WB and those proportions if you used Mojave arms the car would be square 🤣 if you know what I mean..!!
So I'm now saying Typhon arms 😉

Starting to take shape. 6s Typhon arms and kraton axles get it two 13" wide with no offset. Layout is a little tight as to be expected. Once I have it complete and test it I will make some proper aluminum suspension mounts and maybe some carbon towers. Bracing in the rear will be from the bulkhead to the motor mount. I may tie it to the front. Going to mod some typhon side guards, some kydex bumpers, aluminum esc mount, mod or make a battery tray, make some body mounts... long way to go.
Look how tiny next to my trugified typhon...

I'm not too sure how long that ESC fan will last with the ESC on its side 🤔
Other than that it's looking pretty cool and like a teeny tiny truck..!!

I’m working on another way but the battery and esc are slammed in between the steering post and the rf suspension mount. One of those Hobbystar 6s escs would fit flat for sure. The blx and another I have are the same footprint as this max8 corally. If I raise the esc mount up around 1/2” or so to clear the mount it fits.

I got the chassis layout sorted. To get the esc in flat I angled the bat/esc tray and added appropriate holes. Esc is screwed from underneath and on a dense 1/4" pad for cushion. It's pretty vulnerable back there but will not fit anywhere else without throwing the balance off. (It looks tighter in the photo than it really is...) Typhon side tubs are working perfect. Vortex body will not work as is. The rear will need cut out like a kraton to clear the rear tower. If I make smaller towers there wont be the travel I'm after.
Time to get the front end sorted. Lots of work to get the typhon upper arms to work...

Sorry about the pictures. When this is finished I will get more light and clean up the bench...

Made the suspension/steering plate. It will change a bit but its design and function are finished. Too bad one of the fancy cnc shops doesn't make these. I've made them for my arrmas, force rc and this. Far superior than the two piece design.

Got the chassis together. No rubbing or clearance issues. Just need more time...

Ran into a little snag. I have to make rear dog bones longer by around a half inch. The wider bulkhead and using the kraton rear hubs caused a fitment issue. The front was similar but was able to over come it. There to get the chamber correct I used a shorter pillar balls in the bottom.
Final weight will be a little under 8lbs. I half to make the rear db, center brace, rear tower and body mounts.
Few pics to compare and show progress. Arrma bulkhead on left Corally on right in all pics. Note the bigger input bearing and larger dif.
The other car is the xtr. My build is much shorter and narrower...

Quick update: the rear dog bones are made. I used 1/2 7075 because I have no bar stock. Cut out rectangles and turned them round. If they don't hold up I will shorten some others I have and weld them back together.
I fitted my rear support which secures the bulkhead to the tower and then to the chassis. Have to make the chassis top brace. Going to use the broken talion chassis for that.
Need to make some suspension mounts, bumpers and carbon rear tower.
Had it out driving on concrete. It's pretty nuts on 6s.
We have a few health issues going on in our family. I can only work on this a little at a time. Progress is pretty good though...

Got the center brace installed. Pretty stiff and it is sunk into the bulkhead supports so the bolts don't break off. Original badlands 2.8 on as well. I good bit wider than the buggy katars. I also have a ford body I may try on it.
Ripped it around on the street last night, very fast. I need to get a set of hoons for it. I think it will make a great rally street and smooth dirt basher.

In process of making ff and rr suspension hangers. I captured the front of the chassis with the ff and tie it to the front bulkhead bolts. Same with the rear but left the chassis exposed. It would have gotten caught on rocks...These replace the three piece nonsense corally outs in there.
Still need to lighten them up and round everything off but all the hard part is done.
