They've been holding up surprisingly well, I'm pretty happy with the current setup.. The S5's have good grip overall, but I can mash the throttle and snap/slide the rear out at will.

I'd like to see a photo if you'd be inclined to put one up. I thought about these 1:5 scale but didn't look into tire size yet.

Thats perfect! Just wanted to see size. I like the look of those adapters too. I know a few different companies make em.
