Buying the Mojave EXB and I'm on the fence about electronics. I am looking for some insight from other Mojave owners Pros and Cons.

Max6 & 1650 is what I’m doing in mine. Have that same combo in a Kraton and it’s a great combo for this platform.
Motor/ESC:

I second this recommendation. Great combo.

Even the stock electronics from the RTR V5 aren't bad or even the 160a combo from FIRMA if you want to go big.

I guess it depends on what you want. For example, the FIRMA supports the smart tech/battery if that interests you. In addition, the FIRMA doesn't require any soldering if that's something you don't want to do.

I have both the FIRMA and the Hobbywing and like both.

Then you have Castle, Mamba etc... I don't have much experience with Castle or Mamba but I hear good things. At this point I think it's like the Chevy/Ford/Dodge argument. All will do well IMO.

Servo:

I like the Bangood specials. Particularly the DS3225SG. Cheap to replace and a really good bang for the buck.

Transmitter/Receiver:

Depends on budget for sure. If budget is a concern, the Dumbo RC from Bangood is great. Included telemetry and great range and responsiveness. If you are into the SMART tech, then one of the Spektrum combos would be good. These are quite a bit more money than the Dumbo though.

I don't have any super high end transmitters so someone else would probably have more input than me. If you aren't competitively racing, I just don't see the value in those super high end radios.

Battery:

Again, want SMART tech to synergize? Then you will want to look at the Spektrum batteries. Otherwise I've had good luck with the Zeee batteries found on Amazon. Just don't get some no-name brand battery nobody has heard of. I don't like fires.

This is not comprehensive but just some of my limited experience. Hope it helps. The Mojave is a beast and super fun!

That's what I was looking at, but i was thinking about running 8s and hobbywing says that motor can only handle 6s

Im sticking to 6s for now and running the mamba monster x with a tp motors can. Ran today with a 20t pinion no heat at all in the system!
What size TP? I was actually playing with idea of another TP but i'm not 100% sold on them. they are actually less then castle.

i have mine

with MAX6 4985 motor.
21-22t M1 6s

Very strong and fast
No heating issues

Servo Savöx , i will change this one soon to

oi.jpg

Lipos ZOP POWER 75C 2x 3s 7000 mah
Mostly
EC8 Connectors soon
Use motor fan hot summer days
8s it will be a animal with 25t , if you drive more than 5 minutes you must have good strong fans

You need also Scorsched parts fenders, to avoid this Mojave Vaacum all that nasty stuff.
Clean protected rig is important thing

I will also try have the UDR dusty motor cover ,see if it fits and also the dirt guards
Anyways atleast the dirt guards, this is highly recommendet thing, scorsched parts uk have these to Mojave

radio

Cheap
DUMBO 6channel from Banggood with couple extra cheap gyro receivers

Better

Futaba T3PV 2.4GHz Transmitter

what about

Castle Creations Mamba Monster X 8S ESC/Motor Combo w/1520 Sensored Motor (1650Kv)

unfortunately, I’ve never tried one so I couldn’t tell you how it performs - but I think the RTR Mojave comes with a 4074 2050 motor so you would have to gear up on it to match stock speeds which might make it run hotter
What’s the size can on the v5?

Well I think I've made my choice castle mamba monster x 8s with a T.P. 4050 1570kv.
