I've just bought a couple of these but have now been told they are the old version, and the new version of the bashing series are much better. Could anyone confirm? Maybe I'll cancel the order...

I have both types of bashing lipo's and in my experience the new ones are indeed better. Sort of a semi-hardcase, sturdier-feeling cables and very good capacity-to-price ratios.

I've got one 5000mah with the green label as in your link, and one in this style (which are the more recently introduced types):
