Yup had to take mine out...
Then had to bend the heat sink a little bit to make it snug.
Then I screwed the top fan on where I wanted it...plugged the fan in the receiver then put the roll cage back on
What kind of motor is that?
Very easy
Take motor out slide the hobbywibg fan
One of my buddy bent the aluminum to fit in nicely
Wow that's bad. Anyone using thermal paste to fill in the gaps between the ridges on the motor and the heatsink?
Got a point there. If there's no good contact, there's no good cooling, see: PCs and CPUs. You can get thermal past or even thermal adhesive that will transfer the heat. Standared double sided tape will make things worse, it insulates the motor.
Nice setup! Job well doneDone. Bottom plate slid right under, no messing with motor. Did several mods:
1. Shaved corner of left fan making it round in case touches motor cables.
2. The good folks at Amain Hobbies made me a 2in1 Y as I only wanted one connection to receiver,
3. Wound fan cables to offset one another meaning they each hold the other in place.
4. Zip ties as well to assist with fastening.
Snug but not too snug. Have plenty of room away from drive shaft.
