Just received my backordered stone guards for the rear axles from Tower Hobbies. I think I ordered them in December.

Those with the high side guards will be nice. I’m amazed at how clean the k8s stays even without those.

what size dusty did you put on yours? and isnt the writing supposed to be on the other side (left) side of the vehicle?

XXXL, I like to zip from back to front and it's the same size regardless how you orient it.

Dude, you're absolutely right! I ordered them thinking they were for the rear, but they are for the front.

Now that I know they go on the front, I'm curious how much air they block from the motor. I need time to test if they create heat.

You could always drill small holes in them to let air pass.

So the 5687 runs warm? I have the Hobbystar copy and have to run a fan if I gear up. Thought about removing the little window thingy as well. Looks like the guards are good front or back . Let us know how this changes your temps.

I haven't had any heat issues with the 5687 and 29T pinion. That's why I'm still using the stock esc. Ave temps are 120 esc, 145 motor during 20 min runs. I have a fan, but didn't install it because the temps have been pretty good. Those temps are also without the dusty cover installed.

Idk, to me they don’t seem any more useless than the ones on the 6s model...

I guess that’s why they are optional. ?‍

In serious mud they may keep it out of the servo saver, esc area. The wires and connections are pretty exposed. The high tubs do a nice job for the most part.

I think it does exactly that. I had a rusted servo screw because of wetness. If the water stays outside, the parts are useful to me. And they don't cost that much.
