Mojave Mo powa baby! (1100kv build)

Got a late start. Packing it in for the night. The 30t pinion w the 40t spur won’t work as the pinion barley reaches the spur. Ordered a 32. In the meantime and not sure I’ll ever run it this way but she’s got 40/40. 1:1 ratio!! Fits like a glove!! Fresh center diff w tekno shims and 500k instead of my usual 20mil.

Made custom esc plate earlier. Gotta mock it up then fit it. Esc hopefully in tomorrow night!

Thin piece of stainless cut, drilled, and filed down.. Got small threaded spacers to keep it off the chasis. Just a rough plate for now. Gotta solider on my castle batt connectors and mount the rx box where esc plate was. Hoping to be completed tonight. Should have decent weather round these parts tomorrow so I’m hoping to give her a shot w the big powa!

While I commend your efforts at speed, a few things I would point out here in the effort of trying to help you out. Hope this comes across as helpful and not me sh!tying on your plans.

Making it wider does not help with speed. Making it longer would. Making it narrower makes it longer. Making it wider makes it shorter. That’s why an Infraction is a great speed platform over a Kraton.

Secondly, you don’t need more power than a 1650kv, or add more unneeded weight. At this point aero is your enemy. I believe if you work on closing up the body on the Mojave you could get it over 100mph. The open cockpit is a bad design. I would use some sheets of lexan to close it up. Lower your ride height as much as possible, especially the front. Keep that nose down, a$$ up.

Just some thoughts. Hope you get it running as fast as you desire. ????????

Absolutely a Lexan Windshield. I'm working on one for my Mojo. It wants to lift giving poor front traction. Air trapped in the cockpit cant expel fast enough thru the rear louver vents. At the speeds you will get will all that power, you might as well even close up the side windows while you are at it.

BTW, like @jondilly1974 stated, a narrower track width gives much better directional stability for high speeds. Making the track width square to the wheelbase goes against you. Just saying. ?‍

Absolutely a Lexan Windshield. I'm working on one for my Mojo. It wants to lift giving poor front traction. Air trapped in the cockpit cant expel fast enough thru the rear louver vents. At the speeds you will get will all that power, you might as well even close up the side windows while you are at it.

regarding sealing off the bottom. I found that the Scorched RC wheel wells really seals off the body to the chassis. I noticed way less parachuting. But I don't know if your tire setup would work with them. I also use DTX X-con zero offset Truggy wheels and they do fit. Not that they are speed runner wheels by any means. The Scorched RC wells actually flair out the body fenders several MM's, a plus. FWIW.

Damn near broke night to get this monster mounted. Was hoping to have it all soldiered and wired but this was a tricky one. There was no other place she was fitting besides here. I did not want to drill into my beautiful chasis so I used existing holes!! Using some left over random hardware I was able to get her in nice and tight!! That’s how we like it! Nice n tight!! Lol. Got creative w this but she’s in!! Whatchall think bout this poop right here!!!?? Lol. Sorry I’m a lil past delirious getting this in!! Hopefully I’ll get some time again soon for the finish! I’m pleased. I can go to bed now. Talk among urselves and I’ll check back in tomorrow when I get up lol

Castle 6.5 esc bullets and battery bullets tomorrow. Mounting the rx and wiring should be a breeze at this point. Oh and of course the sensor wire is approx 3” too short so I’m waiting on an adapter... fml

thx dude. Used the rubber servo grommets as anti vibration / cushion between the mount and esc. A lot of trimming and filing to get it perfect. All done by hand. No machine.

dude i check the forums every few hours just to see if you've got an update posted on this project. I know my setup will not be as fast, but i will get sort of a baseline of what i can maybe come close to hahaha. Cant wait to see how the maiden voyage goes.

Alright first run done. Lotta kinks to work out here. Ran unsensored since I’m waiting for the adapter to come to lengthen the harness. Damn motor bullet popped off and arched!! Thank god nothing happened! Fuckin pinion popping off every pass!! Had to dimple the shaft (probably voided warranty) but nonetheless it wouldn’t hold. I’m not gonna biff up my driveline w this bullshit so I’m getting better set screw now lol.
There are so adjustments I need to dial in. Too many options!! only set 75% so I can check temps and mesh. Running on stock wheels since I wasn’t worried bout clearance or hi speed runs. Just wanted to break in a lil. U know just ease into her. Inch by inch! Before going balls deep n knocking the bottom
