Emailed traxxas and told the seller I'm looking for a replacement.

Hopefully between the 2 I get a replacement.

$73 buck for a set and literally didn't last 5 minutes.

Last time I took a rig out in the 30's I snapped a metal driveshaft in less than 60 seconds. Didn't even realize metal embrittlement was a thing but plastics are even worse..

Perhaps just bad luck or maybe the cold exposes flaws in the materials.

You would think the wheel would hold up though.

Cold can and will make materials react in a manner you're just not ready for (except for stuff like water...that's fairly predictable).

With plastic you're on your own except for a manufacturing defect. If it's defective Traxxas is pretty good about backing their stuff.
