So here we go, sorry for the delay....๐Ÿ˜‰

I wanted an EXB Outcast way before the Outcast was released but it's taken me far too long to complete this build and the actual Arrma version has been out for a while now..!! ( mine's still way better though )
Told myself this build was going to be KISS (keep it simple stupid) no mega upgrades just a true EXB but with the EXBB treatment ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
I already listed most of the parts I'm going to use earlier.

I set myself one rule with this build though and that was attention to detail and the plan to only use two colors, black and silver..!!
Also black has to be on silver and silver has to be on black, well you'll see as we go on.... ( wish me luck )

So the first part was working on the stock Kraton EXB suspension, to my amazement I found out that the new EXB Kraton comes with some new upgrades like EXB shock standoffs and washers under the droop screws for some reason ๐Ÿค” no idea why but hey I'll just go with it for now..
Upgraded the droop screws to titanium versions, you'll also see I had spare ones to experiment with later..!!

IMG_1025.jpeg

Scorched lower EXB suspension bumper mount fitted, this is one of the best upgrades out there in my opinion ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

IMG_1027.jpeg

I'll have plenty of sparks when I'm upside down ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ with more of the titanium droop screws..

IMG_1028.jpeg

Quick spread of parts, this is the tall GKA servo mount and isn't really needed for my servo but it's all that was available, another top quality upgrade.!!
M2C braces and the new Arrma rear steel skid plate to go with the titanium chassis so less sparks underneath ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ may remove it later.

IMG_1034.jpeg

Close up of chassis, skid and droop screw, as you may notice I had to remove a small amount of material on the arm, didn't want to file the chassis this time and it only required the smallest amount of shaving so all is good..!! ( better pics later from underneath )

IMG_1037.jpeg

So far so good, still all black and silver.. This was a test fitting for the chassis etc..๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

IMG_1042.jpeg

I did go through all the diffs as always but I'm not writing it all up again ( been there done that ๐Ÿคฃ ) it's just the usual EXB @BashingBrian 's mod to the rear making it a fully open setup with my shims ( more precise than Arrma's kit ) if you want to know how read my original Kraton EXB build thread I think..
As always with Arrma's the original diffs were really low on oil from the factory ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ
Below are the oil weights that I put in this time around..!!

IMG_1048.jpeg

De-anodizing time ๐Ÿ˜‰ and lots of polishing..

IMG_1051.jpeg

Sticking with the black/silver rule meant I had to change these o-rings ๐Ÿคฃ the black ones are far better quality too..

IMG_1052.jpeg

Bit of pimp ๐Ÿ˜Ž

IMG_1053.jpeg

I then went on to break my own rule by using the red Arrma shock o-rings as the black ones I had were the wrong size..!!
Come on, no one will see them..!! Just promise me you won't tell anyone ๐Ÿ˜‰
Standard weight oil, all rebuilt with copious amounts of green slime... All totally stock again.

IMG_1076.jpeg

So shiny I can see my face in them ๐Ÿ˜Ž

This is EXXXBB because this is pure rc porn. Love it Brian. It's gonna look exactly how it should have out of the box. Black and silver is the EXB body color. Too bad Arrma hadn't considered it when they built them.

Up next..

This o-ring is to take out a small amount of play in the EXB's suspension pin system, these are 6x1mm o-rings and they fit behind the pin head..
You can see them on the second picture before I insert then pin all the way in..๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

IMG_1147.jpeg

You can see some black on silver action here too ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

IMG_1149.jpeg

I always fit the M2C shock bushing, another one of my favourite mods that is on all my builds ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Are you keeping up with the silver on black/black on silver theme ๐Ÿ˜‰

IMG_1079.jpeg

Forgot to say earlier, my other rule was this truck couldn't be heavier that stock if possible.!!
With the titanium chassis being heavier that stock that's the reason I had to do a bit of weight saving with some other parts like the carbon shock towers and the titanium turnbuckles you see below ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ˜‰

IMG_1087.jpeg

Stock.....

IMG_1088.jpeg

Titanium....
In the hand they are sooooo light ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ and they make a real different sound when you clink them together..!!

IMG_1089.jpeg

Built them up with all new ball ends, as when I went to use the original Kraton ones they just all lose fitting ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

IMG_1091.jpeg

You can see the Scorched V1 Ackerman along with ABEC5 bearings in the steering ( such overkill ๐Ÿคฃ ) you'll also see that I run longer lower tower bolts with nuts on the backs, cheap and easy upgrade..!!
Damn it, just realised the bearings are yellow ๐Ÿคฌ this color rule is harder than you think..!!

IMG_1110.jpeg

So this is where we are atm, just some gratuitous pimp shots ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Ž
Silver on black/black on silver's looking good so far I think...!!

IMG_1112.jpeg
IMG_1114.jpeg
IMG_1115.jpeg

Wasn't too sure about fitting the M2C rear tower brace on the carbon tower but I think it looks good and will help the rear end..!!

IMG_1116.jpeg
IMG_1117.jpeg

Fitted the GKA mount the wrong way round, just so I could have all the writing on everything the same way round ๐Ÿคช

IMG_1121.jpeg
IMG_1126.jpeg

More soon...

Just a few other diy and modded parts to be fitted soon..!!
Kydex 1.5mm dirt guards...

IMG_1150.jpeg

Battery tray mod, I run fat CNHL batteries and they tend to rub the spur into the side, so I always fit 0.75mm Lexan down the inside of the battery tray to avoid damage to the batteries..๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
Also a nice bit of cushioning on the bottom of the tray too, it's a very dense 4mm thick closed cell foam I have at work..!! top mod ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

IMG_1151.jpeg

That sticking out piece of the tray is the bit I'm protecting the battery from getting punched by..!! ( it backs onto the spur )

IMG_1152.jpeg

Stock Outcast side guards just re-worked into a nicer shape for later..๐Ÿค”

IMG_1154.jpeg

Underneath... You can now see how close the rear arms are to the chassis..!! Trust me they don't rub ๐Ÿ˜Ž

IMG_1190.jpeg

I call this, nature and pimp ๐Ÿ˜

IMG_1173.jpeg
IMG_1184.jpeg

Quick teaser 2nd body....

IMG_1236.jpeg

Back soon...

About bloody time ๐Ÿคฃ

looks bad ass btw.

What's the choice of Powerplant?.

With you saying about about stock weights I'm assuming hw 4985, Castle 1650 too heavy.

Fwiw the 4985 in my noto build is complete overkill. Imo too much on the swb chassis.

Even after the deanodizing pain from my own noto build I'm seriously considering it on the talion build after seeing this ๐Ÿคฃ.

Good work man. ๐Ÿ‘

How do you De-anodize the parts? Is one way better than others?

Thank you! Your build is very inspiring. I may break my new Talion EXB down and rebuild!!

What's the choice of Powerplant?.

Good work man. ๐Ÿ‘
You'll have to wait and see...๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿค”

Thx., I've tried to excel myself this time..

Servo choice (black/silver๐Ÿ˜‰), as I said before this is the tall servo mount and it's way too tall.
This servo is stupid powerful and seriously fast for what it is..!!

Nice, lots of bling bling. โœจ
Never thought to check the scorched turnbuckles to see if they are loose. I may have to buy new links myself now. ๐Ÿค”

So the end is near...
I'm still waiting for the Outcast EXB front bumper it's on backorder ๐Ÿ˜ฉ so for now I'll run the Kraton one ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

I went a bit OT on the braid this time ๐Ÿ˜‰ but isn't the fun in the attention to detail.. (silver and black ๐Ÿ˜‰)
Went with the trusty Max6 esc ( silver and black ) and paired it with the motor from my O8s a 4685/1250kv, this should be fun..!!

IMG_1196.jpeg

Another diy homemade carbon fiber center brace fitted, same method as my other builds, threaded inserts bonded into roll wrapped tube with the stock ball ends. Rubber o-rings on the SPEKTR motor to stop chassis slap..!! ๐Ÿ˜‰
I've been converting all my rigs over to XT150's recently, all but the Infraction and Outcast 8s as they both use 8mm bullets..

As above this is where it has sat for a while as I debated whether to change my radio of choice ๐Ÿค” and guess what..!! @WoodiE
I have gone over to the dark side ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ my new journey has begun, in with the new and out with the old as they say (RIP Spektrum) ๐Ÿ˜‰

IMG_1423.jpeg
IMG_1455.jpeg
IMG_1456.jpeg

So the end is very near, only the bodies left to reveal..!!๐Ÿ˜‰
I think I did well with the silver / black theme, I had to put a few colors in it near the end ( I could have put two black battery plugs on it but that's just asking for trouble ๐Ÿคฃ ) so here it is finished for now..!!๐Ÿ˜Ž

IMG_1451.jpeg

Nearly forgot, it's geared 23/50T for now @55mph on 6s not looking for top speed with this one just loads of torque and exceleration..!!

Sorry for the wait, to be honest I'd totally forgotten to finish this thread ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ it's been done for weeks..!!
So here goes...... Thanks @Flames77 for the color..!! ( but with a twist of my own ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Paint finished, just waiting to peel that backing..!!

IMG_1266.jpeg

Backing peeled.. ๐Ÿค”

IMG_1275.jpeg

Wasn't quite right, so I hit it with Tamiya PS-55 ๐Ÿ˜‰ so it's now matte..!!

Still no UK stock of the EXB Outcast bumper..!! ( It shipped incorrectly packaged, not sure if it was a worldwide thing ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ฉ )

IMG_1492.jpeg

So that was it, hope it was worth the wait..!! let me know what you all think ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Maiden voyage, only 5 minutes into the run.... maybe too much power ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

IMG_1497.jpeg

This one was a fun build as I've always wanted an Outcast and it totally lives upto what I expected, and even more so. It has ludicrous power on tap and that's geared very moderately atm ๐Ÿ˜‰ I don't really want it any faster than it is currently..!!
It almost does standing double back flips..!! lets see how these EXB diffs hold up ๐Ÿ˜‰
Not sure what the next build will be, as I now have them all ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

See ya'll soon ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Dang man, nice work! I havenโ€™t decided yet on which one I want to get/buildโ€ฆ. I like both bodies Outcast and the Notoriousโ€ฆ
