Maintenance is really not that bad. Each car gets driven less when there are so many on the shelf, so each car wears slowly. Cars get worn by time driven.

So if someone has 5 cars and someone else has 50, they spend the same time/money on maintenance if they spend the same amount of time driving RC. Number of cars owned doesn’t matter.

However, the initial purchase and all the upgrading is definitely more expensive.

Speak for yourself, I'm the kind of guy that can take out 5 cars and break every single one of them :ROFLMAO:

XMAXX tires are $50 a set on sale right now, still on stock servo so not much other option there. Outcast- name me a part that is not in stock from local hobby shop that is less than $10-$20 shipped. It seems to add up pretty quickly when a few additional spares are added in as well.

Add in a tool here or there, some oils, etc. the list goes on and on,

Shopping at jrc does save us a lot but $100 doesn’t stretch as far as it did in my shopping carts some years back
