I have arrma senton 4x4 mega that overheats every time I run it. It has burned up 3 motors and gets really hot fast. I got a upgraded esc [ hobby wing esc] and two fans and it still over heats.

What tooth would you recommend I have a 22 tooth on it now

How does the truck roll without the motor module? Does it roll freely or seem like there's binding? Check that it rolls free and as mentioned drop a couple pinion teeth possibly if so?

It does roll freely and I haven't really noticed any binding.

Brushed motors get pretty hot, that is way too geared for a mega!!

Switch to a brushless motor with a 15T pinion. Still way faster than current set up.

If you're staying brushed I'd go with the factory gearing, which is 17t. Even with that you'll still burn up motors, just the nature of the brushed motor beast. For reliability, cooler Temps, and more speed, I'd just switch to brushless and call it a day.

You'll find other needed parts too. So look around the site to try and buy everything you think you'll need/want at once.

Ok what brand of brushless should I look for because I know some companies have better esc and motors

This motor is fine and inexpensive. Found on Jenny's Rc...39 bucks and used for the 3S vehicles. You can spend more but why?

Yeh that's a decent price but I would also need a brushless esc

If your going to convert it to brushless, I'd also consider just buying a brushless RTR. You could sell the mega to fund it if required.

Any RC motor/esc combo can and will overheat at times. But, with a brushless setup and conservative gearing, it really won’t be an issue at all. Brushed motors are just a pain and money pit anymore.
