Should I buy sealed end caps or open ones on the TP motor? I don't know what the difference is.

Sealed, Sealed means there are no open holes on the back/front of the motor to allow air/dust/dirt in.

Yea sealed is better.
Open endbells are there to reduce heat. And best in clean running terrain, Speed running etc., Or groomed Tracks. Open/vented motors need to be cleaned out very often.

I try to buy from the official US site if at all possible as they ship from California. Otherwise, it's R Mamba on ebay when I want something not on the US site. US site gets me motors in about 3 days if it's in stock. If I need to custom order its about 4 weeks, for both R mamba and US site.

I bought the TP 4070 motor, do you have any pinion gear recommendations for it? I will be running the rc on grass.

Did you get the 1700kv? if so I think you could start with a 20t if you have fans.
