Love that stretched Typhon!!!!!!! Must be a rocket ship for sure.... like that custom carbon fiber rig. I like working with CF. Did a Pan car custom years back, trying for speed runs in the late 1990's. CF was very expensive back then and hard to source. Back then there was no way to clock your speeds, No GPS speed meters or radar speed guns. You basically would run on a 1/4 mile Velodrone Bicycle track with a helper and a stop watch.

Carbon still isn't too cheap, but certainly better now... This sheet I used was around $160 for 24" long sheet

The 202mph world record holder is big into Velodrone racing now.

My Losi mini8 drove me nuts. How many spurs and pinions did I go through. Never got it right for long. Robinson racing HR etc it still broke them all on 3s. But what a missile. Its back to 2s and used gently.

Strange, I never stripped one. I loved the surprise everyone had on their face when they saw it run on 3s. They always verbally expressed how amazed they were. I believe it was related to how tiny it is.

I'd like to get another at some point. Kinda sad they discontinued it.

For those of you that had posted up the Losi Mini-8's. You should really check out the offerings from LC Racing/Tacon. They're basically bomb-proof, really high quality, and were designed by the same person as the Mini-8. I have three of the LC Racing's and one Tacon. Otherwise than my Arrma's, they're my favorite RC's I run. Here's a few pics of mine, and some progress pics of an LC Racing I'm building for my brother to run this weekend.

That is good to know, I had my eyes on the Team Associated Reflex 1/14 as an alternative also. That LC Racing Tacon looks nice.

Thanks.. I've heard good reviews on the Reflex, but never owned one. The LC Racings have been really taking off in popularity lately. They have a newer LC12B-1 kit that I ordered a few days ago that's supposed to be fantastic. Can't wait to get it. RC Driver on Youtube just did a review on it last week.

Just a few that are a bit different..???
Top to bottom..

Yokomo MR-4TC SD CM drift car, complete with candy purple paint the deepest deepish wheels I could lay my hands on and custom made light buckets with full light kit including headlight, brake lights and turn signals all working like a real car..!!

I ran my LC Racing truggy on 3s once Omg its just a bundle of insanity.

Where did you find a carbon fiber chassis?

Sorry for the small delay in answering your question. My brother actually wanted a carbon fiber look to his chassis, so I wrapped the top part of the chassis using 3M Oracal carbon fiber. On the bottom of the chassis I used a "Flipped 2.0" Mattox chassis protector from a Tekno ET410 that fit almost exactly with a small amount of trimming, combined with a T-Bone racing front bumper/skidplate for a Tacon Soar. I've included a few pics of the bottom of the chassis. I actually have a real carbon fiber chassis from One Hobby coming from a cross-importer from Germany that should be here in a few weeks for one of my LC Racing's that I'm still working on.

Oh so it's just a wrap. I saw a guy on facebook that actually made a carbon fiber chassis. And I never thought to notch the side guard to fit the esc, I was going to make a plate out of an old Outcast chassis.

Yeah, just a wrap but that's what my brother wanted and he didn't feel like waiting 3 weeks to get an official carbon chassis like I did. It turned out really well, and since the material is 3M, it's really good quality and is actually pretty durable. As far as the ESC goes, I did have to notch the side guard since we're running a Hobbywing 80amp (which is complete overkill Loll).. We also drilled out the stock center hole for the side guards to keep the 3-cell 2200mah Lipo in place.

Yeah I have the Hobbywing WP-10BL50 in mine and wanted to move it from the top deck.

I ditched the battery retainer on mine and just did this. It's a Puretech rc Xtreme mount medium that was trimmed to fit. https://puretechproducts.com/product/xtreme-quick-mounts/

This is my MT, even if I notched the side guard the 10BL60 sensored esc doesn't fit between the servo and motor :(

I guess I should put these here too. ;)

I had the Tamiya Globe Liner Semi with an Astro-Flight drag motor that I took out of brother's Tamiya super Hornet way back in the early 90's. That thing "hauled":ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:, it would spin all 8 rear tires with ease.. I used to use my old Futaba Attack stick radio with it to shift the 3-speed transmission. Man I miss that thing..

I have always liked the Globe cabover - and maybe some day I'll have it. I also like the look of the new Volvo FH16 - just wish it had a sleeper! The Scania's are pretty nice too but I'd grab the Globe and Volvo first.

The Semi's still come with a 3 speed, though you can get an aftermarket 'automatic' trans. The Knight originally used an analog Futaba Attack type transmitter but it's been converted since - currently, my trucks are 2.4 and run 2S LiPo's. ;)

It's never too late to get back into the Semi thing. :)

Some more - yeah, I been collecting for a little while and I've graduated from RCA (RC-aholics Anonymous):

RC10 TC4, Traxxas UDR, Xmaxx, Scale 53' flatbed (for use with Tamiya Semis) carrying Slash wheels/tires. Missing is an HPI Savage (it's in the garage getting fixed).

Now onto air and sea vehicles - Ares Ethos PQ, Blade CX2, Blade MCX2, UMX Carbon Cub SS, Mini Vapor, Night Vapor, Scale Select Cessna, Dumas Scarab (42")

As you can see, I don't play with everything all the time. They all have their time and place. A few of them haven't been played with in years. Reflecting on some other posts here, maybe it's time for some of them to find a new home.
