Radio unit for good range.

I wasn't even thinking about getting a new radio until now... lol

Although I do have a spectrum dx3s somewhere.

I have the RC6GS v3 which gives me 300 meter range, after that it gets "laggy" with latency. 90€
To get better range for FPV I bought the Radiomaster MT12 with ELRS protocol. 130€ +25€ Gyro. ELRS has the best affordable range on the surface market to date. But the Radiolink v3 is cheaper and has a gyro in the receiver.
I have looked at these, please can you link me to the gyro?

Thanks

Apparently there is just no way to beat the range of those new Radiomasters. But, for a “conventional” radio with a decent gyro, the RadioLink RC6GS-V3 is hands down the best for range. Over 600 meters, and you can’t even see the car at half that distance. Plus, as @morrjr71 said, additional receivers are cheap. The adjustment and menu options are also top notch.
I’ll eventually try a RadioMaster, but for now the RadioLink is my go-to transmitter.
What's wrong with these new radio masters?

This is the Radiolink 6 channel gyro receiver https://www.amazon.co.uk/Radiolink-Receiver-Integrated-Channels-Compatible/dp/B0B4692X14/ref=sr_1_4?crid=906MIWA07REJ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.3KMmnr6n5MZbNi0sMzNUi1wPGKNjmph8MdWY1SjSywd1-srRyaXSwUEY0nTJsgVTu82xA15h1QG3h71PhUPkuTuBgVD5R5g2xD5kTd0TsXoFVdb-BxkbIQ3ZV0QjxzvXvAlnoUcjddYT3zxTLW_VzfOhp36E7Czp7dhv13oyzO7vmGUw_sXN6E93a-dzG2oZMzOq359NSEi0h8GNeunLoEW6_7FhNiQS4jAaG2aOGJf1av177PUfvkDT-UJrbLItv4egogATErcxTSrT9oMYmWntQHhTQOQ9X5fSpInViVw.ZzR4m20f-DYODmbfiFp_2z97zG1lVa1IBwn_HPScBUE&dib_tag=se&keywords=radiolink+rc+receiver&qid=1710199028&sprefix=radiolink+rc,aps,252&sr=8-4https://www.amazon.co.uk/Radiolink-Receiver-Integrated-Channels-Compatible/dp/B0B4692X14/ref=sr_1_4?crid=906MIWA07REJ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.3KMmnr6n5MZbNi0sMzNUi1wPGKNjmph8MdWY1SjSywd1-srRyaXSwUEY0nTJsgVTu82xA15h1QG3h71PhUPkuTuBgVD5R5g2xD5kTd0TsXoFVdb-BxkbIQ3ZV0QjxzvXvAlnoUcjddYT3zxTLW_VzfOhp36E7Czp7dhv13oyzO7vmGUw_sXN6E93a-dzG2oZMzOq359NSEi0h8GNeunLoEW6_7FhNiQS4jAaG2aOGJf1av177PUfvkDT-UJrbLItv4egogATErcxTSrT9oMYmWntQHhTQOQ9X5fSpInViVw.ZzR4m20f-DYODmbfiFp_2z97zG1lVa1IBwn_HPScBUE&dib_tag=se&keywords=radiolink+rc+receiver&qid=1710199028&sprefix=radiolink+rc,aps,252&sr=8-4

Last I heard abut the Radiomaster was they were still working out some bugs in the firmware but that was like right after they came out, I can't remember what the issue(s) were or if they have fixed them or not, but I have heard mostly positive about it.

I’d hop on that train and say the TQ is pretty darn good too. Super basic. But I have like 3 of them and my oldest is running and it’s almost 5 years old

The Traxxas TQ isn't even comparable to the TQi imho, probably one of the worst rtr radios as it lacks even the most basic of features like end point adjustments and channel reversing.

skyrc gyro gc401. Any other "good" gyro can do the job.

If you have questions about the MT12 read and ask here:
https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/new-mt12-surface-radio-controller.66280/

For me the MT12 had much better value compared to the Radiolink v3. Just holding it in the hand I felt the MT12 had way better build quality.

The drawbacks of the new MT12 for me are:
New product and still in development.(No receivers with internal gyro are yet supported by ELRS)
You can program and setup way more but everything seems more complicated.
I had to watch a video tutorial just to install the external two switches on the bottom of the MT12.
Even setting up 50/75/100% throttle switch takes longer than usual.

But other than that I feel like any other radio now has 10 years outdated tech inside 🙂. (I am a bit over exaggerating)

Radiolink V3 for the money you can’t bet it
