What is everyone’s opinion on running the stock motor with a 4S battery occasionally? I realize that it will reduce the life of the motor just curious as to how much? On YouTube I’ve been watching several people run the stock motor on 6S and it seems to be working time and time again. Thank you

That is true, however I typically like to go with the spectrum brand which is not very cheap unfortunately. I am also more just curious on longevity with running a 4S battery?

It's a 3900 kV motor. Spektrum doesn't publish any max RPM specs, but unloaded @ 3S, that's 49K RPM and @ 4S that's 65K RPM. So just be careful if you decide to run it on a 4S system (you'll have to upgrade the stock Firma 100 ESC too as it is only 2S-3S).

I've run a Senton motor on 4s pretty hot to run. Upgraded the fan and it's good now. Would tip you just to get a 4s motor from jennyrc not really worth overvolting.

I ordered the 120 amp ESC. As I stated earlier I seen several different people running 6S which would be a ton more power than the 4S

The vendetta motor will run even hotter than the senton motor.

My concern is getting a 4S motor with such a low KV rating I will be getting a lower TopSpeed then running a 3S battery with the 26 tooth pinion. I don’t know how much larger of a pinion gear I can put in that motor plate. From what I remember there is very little room with installing the 26 tooth pinion.

Ya really should get away from the spectrum stuff..for not much more you can get tp an castle...both WAY BETTER for not much more...mm2 120$ an a tp3650-3080kv 109$ an ya got a 100mph 3s setup...130/4s an 150/5s capable system for not much more than spectrum stuff.far as gearing..the HR slipper eliminater with mod1 gears an ya can use 34t,36t spurs an run crazy #'s on 3,4s..

Go smaller with spur then ya can go bigger on pinion..I could fit 32 pinion an 31t spur!!!!!here's 31/31.about the tallest gearing possible.
My detta is currently mmx8s-tp3650-3080kv
27/31 an ran 112mph on 4s in neighborhood in 1200ft..I got it on vid on YT..currently the world's
fastest 2,3,an 4s vendetta

You can do it. Sure thing. It will not last long though with lots of full throttle use. Have used 4000kv motors on 3 and 3200kv motors on 4s for quite a while (around 50k rpm) and they hold up, just need bearings changed more frequently.

If you are sensitive enough to ensure that the motor stays below 50k RPM (and could do the math in your head), you could even run 8s on the motor if you wanted to, no problem.

I'm guessing that you'll spend at least some amount of time at full throttle and top speed (or at least trying to get there), so I'd suggest a lower KV motor for longevity.
