I have my cap pack soldered as close as I could get it, with heat shrink around it. It looks like you already have your battery wires as short as possible, so you are already off to a good start. You are obviously well versed in soldering, but for others; You have to have a pretty powerful soldering iron, it needs to be turned high(825+), and use your fattest tip. You want it really hot, so you solder fast, and don’t heat up the wire. It’s really close to the ESC, high temps would damage it if you left the iron on too long.
