Castle or HW? 6s or 8s?130mph, I got a 1650kv.
There are a lot of variables. I don't use HW personally for speed runs. All my speed builds have Castle ESC's. I use the HW combos for my bashers. I'll let some others chime in.
Yes, it matters. HW ESC's have limitations. Most speed runners are using Castle.@Harriot10 Dose it madder HW vs Castle? @Edough13 I know you gave a recommendation for 4s gearing but could you give me a recommendation for 8s?
ok. I know that most speed runners use Castles but i did not know that was one of the reasons.Yes, it matters. HW ESC's have limitations. Most speed runners are using Castle.
Sorry I couldn’t help more, just don’t have much experience with HW for speed runs. Most are using castle combos or castle/tp power.ok. I know that most speed runners use Castles but i did not know that was one of the reasons.
Sure what speed are you looking for? I'd just need to know motor kv, tire size and if your running Limitless/Typhon diffs (13/43) or GP5 diffs (15/42).@Harriot10 Dose it madder HW vs Castle? @Edough13 I know you gave a recommendation for 4s gearing but could you give me a recommendation for 8s?
130mph, 1650kv, 100mm (GRP), and 15/42.
When using a gear calculator the end number is nowhere close in my experience. Take that end number and multiply it times 75-80% efficiency.30t pinion and 34t spool theoretically should get you to 130s.
I start with a 27t pinion and move up slowly

137 x .8 = 109
Gonna need more gear in my opinion to go 130mph.
no but you will need to grind a little of it for clearance.I got some questions:
What shock oil should I use?
@RedondoBeachRC Should I add timing? (I have the same ESC as you)
@phildogg or @Edough13 Do I need to remove the rear support?

i just run stock myself. Thanks so much. Do you have any advice for shock oil?
It is 2000cst. which is Diff oil. which converts to 160 weight shock oil.no but you will need to grind a little of it for clearance.
