There are a lot of variables. I don't use HW personally for speed runs. All my speed builds have Castle ESC's. I use the HW combos for my bashers. I'll let some others chime in.

Yes, it matters. HW ESC's have limitations. Most speed runners are using Castle.

Sorry I couldn’t help more, just don’t have much experience with HW for speed runs. Most are using castle combos or castle/tp power.

I’m sure others will chime in. Check out YT and see if you can find HW speed setups.

Sure what speed are you looking for? I'd just need to know motor kv, tire size and if your running Limitless/Typhon diffs (13/43) or GP5 diffs (15/42).

30t pinion and 34t spool theoretically should get you to 130s.

I start with a 27t pinion and move up slowly

When using a gear calculator the end number is nowhere close in my experience. Take that end number and multiply it times 75-80% efficiency.

137 x .8 = 109

Gonna need more gear in my opinion to go 130mph.

It’s hasn’t been too accurate for me too but I’ve learned my system and have found that that I can get close to planned speed.

For example this was a estimated speed for 27/39 but I maxed out at 117mph

And this was my estimated 27/34 estimate and I’m currently at 121mph

Since I’m using Spektrum ESCs it’s helping me estimate my voltage drop.

Update #3
a month ago, I got my GRP tires in S1 and S3 hard wall.
On Fri I got my Pinocchio spool in from RC on a budget.
Just tonight I borrowed a program card, and I went from 37.5% to 87.5% braking (that explains why my brake was bad and just doing it manually), I thought I get it to 100%) I set the voltage cut off from high to low, and I set the Rev from 100% to 25%.
I cleaned the chassis this week.
I added oil to the baring on the spool.
Now I need to get a spool gear, my hobby shop did not have 34t in stock.
I am now going to work on the back and the front, should post an update in the next few days.

It is 2000cst. which is Diff oil. which converts to 160 weight shock oil.
