Never heard of it and google was my friend.

Projectiles literally

Publication: 09-01-2020

" We wanted to make each pie have a meaning ", declared Stan Laurel of The Battle of the Century (1927), the longest battle of pies in the history of silent cinema. Taking this statement very literally, Pierre Senges assumes the presence of "tart signifiers" on film sets, while telling us the secrets of the Los Angeles Cream Pie Company, responsible for supplying these pastry projectiles to Hollywood studios. This book makes many other greedy, even theological, hypotheses. And if the author lends a certain gravity to this entartage, it is that of a "serious clown" conjuring universal nonsense with laughter.

This just sounds wrong in my wrong thinking mind 😂.

But thanks. For some reason, I've never thought about looking it up to see what it was about. The museum was the machines of lille.
