I bought / built / and race their new SCT410sl , so I personally would have no need for this one .
Sounds like the SL is for actual racing and 410.3 more suited for "rashing". I fall into the rasher category. Love the .3 for the crazy durability, glad to see it available again. Even if I'll never buy another..yes, it's that good that it'll likely last me forever.😁🤞

IDK, but something sure is different with the MT410.. $799?! 😯🤔🤯 Was $469?
Also note the description, MT410.3-1..🤷‍♂️

I wonder if a new MT410 is coming as well.
I think so. My buddy and I were looking around for MT410's the other day and we couldn't find hardly any (at the normal price). I'm pretty sure they are going to discontinue the MT410 current version as well. In the same way they did the SCT410.3, just quietly no fanfare or announcement, they'll just start going out of stock everywhere.

But hopefully that means they are coming out with the MT410 2.0 as well. Since the SCT410 and MT410 had the same base chassis, it kind of makes sense they would update them together.

It’s official!

Product Description
Building on the success of the acclaimed SCT410.3, released nearly nine years ago, the SCT410 2.0 is designed to cater to RC racers and enthusiasts seeking a well handling, nearly indestructible vehicle built to withstand the harshest bashing and most competitive race conditions.

The SCT410 2.0 has undergone over two years of meticulous testing and development to ensure it stands as a true successor to the beloved SCT410.3. Positioned as the go-to option for extreme environments, the SCT410 2.0 does not replace the highly successful SCT410SL but complements it, providing a robust and durable alternative for outdoor racing and bashing conditions.

Featuring a revised chassis design and layout, the SCT410 2.0 includes HD mudguards, a covered center diff, and easy access differentials, enhancing its strength and ease of maintenance. The incorporation of new 2.X compatible bulkheads, new internal differential gears, and SCT-specific suspension geometry, demonstrates Tekno RC’s commitment to delivering exceptional performance to RC enthusiasts.

Setting the SCT410 2.0 apart from competitors, Tekno RC offers a race-tuned setup straight out of the box, built on a championship-winning 1/8th race platform. The same race-bred materials were used throughout, such as our premium nylons, 6061 and 7075 machined aluminum, and proven hardened steel in the most critical places, the SCT410 2.0 ensures top-tier performance and durability.

Frankly, they could have kept making the same old one, and I would have been just happy! But I'll take the center diff cover and "long wear" chassis. Though I'm not sure how i feel about "preset gearing options". I'm happy they focused on bashing and durability as well, I think that's what made the OG stand out! Should be a winner!

I wonder if a new MT410 is coming as well.

Now you got me wondering as well.
Meanwhile, for anyone still looking for mt410 now. Says "in stock"🤷‍♂️
I was wondering what was going on. Was looking to get a MT410 for the upcoming holiday season and noticed there were priced really high an OOS like you stated at most places. Thank you again for the link.

The new 2.0 SCT is a gem. Would be my next SCT hands down.
But The SL is lighter for the track. The only major complaint of the Tekno's. Heavier than most competitors. Yet still a strong tank for sure. Tekno makes the strongest RCs IMHO. With that come a bit more mass and weight.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my .3. I have no doubts Tekno has made improvements with the 2.0, but I can't justify buying another at this point. 😉 No regerts though either. I haven't been running mine much this year since my bro backed out of his Slash aspirations..I've tried running the 410.3 against his Typhon 6s (on 3s) but, the buggy is just too planted. Speed is not a problem, it's the light weight of the 410.3. Just bounces and slides around too much. Was fun though...think I was running 4s in the Tekno at the time. Not sure, I think I turn better laps on 3s with the 410.3, the Typhon is really good on 4s.

Just they are 2 different animals??
The shocks....

I don’t get the pricing. Do retailers think the MT410 (original) is worth more right before it will be replaced? Makes no sense to me… I guess supply and demand are what they are but not sure why anyone would pay a premium for a chassis that is about to be updated. It was a great chassis to be sure, but there was nothing magical that would somehow make it more valuable at this particular moment. It is not a collector’s item.

I got spoiled when you could easily get them at Tower for about $300 brand new (with coupon).

Yes, for sure. Just trying different things.. ya know, throw $hit at the wall and see what sticks..😜🤷‍♂️ I have a 16 year old Xray buggy that I usually run against the Typhon. I think IIRC, he only had a 3s pack charged and my buggy on 4s wasn't a fair match. So I grabbed the sct410. It was fun, he was speed limited, I was rollover limited!!🤣🤣

Yeah, IDK what's up with the sites listing the MT410 at $799. Even it it were a 2.0, no way I'd pay that for a bare bones basher kit!? Maybe if it was a fully beefcaked ET48 2.0 with body and tires..maybe, not likely. Just me.

It’s only marked up like that at Horizon (and Tower, which is owned by Horizon). Every other retailer still has it at the normal price.

I’d chalk it up to all of Horizon’s software problems lately.

Ooh baby!!😯😁
I don't know about the preset gear ratios being a bonus, nor the 13 (2.0)vs 16mm (410.3) shocks, but everything else looks great.
Arms appear similar. I think Bret may be over hyping a bit, said steel driveshafts throughout as he's holding the aluminum front shaft in his hands,LOL.

Definitely a nice piece !!! But for my racing application on turf , my SCT410sl fits the bill better , this truck looks to heavy to do what I'm doing with mine on turf . For the outside big 1/8 dirt track , heck yeah !!!!

Agreed, the 2.0 seems less "race worthy" than the .3. Glad to see it still available though. Perhaps the most bash worthy sct ever?
