Had time to change front diff fluid to 30k and put probably the 5th or 6th set of new tires on and she runs well !!!!
30k front diff fluid appears to be the sweet spot
At least in my limited experience!!!
Still having a blast with it
Have yet to run the “speed” gear
But it’s coming 😁😁😁

Keep the feedback coming....it is always helpful and I like the positive progress!

May have hit a mailbox!!!
Well ....
Not the mailbox itself!
but the 4x4 post holding it in the ground !
Worst fwobble I’ve had with the felony
Didn’t break the body
But bent the Ackerman plate and messed up front passenger shock !!!
Time for rebuild anyway
Got ANOTHER set of new hoons gold fronts cause that’s all they had !!!!
back to wrenching!!!
😁😁😁

Sorry to hear that my Man....

Ouch! I hit a light pole with my Typhon a while back, didn't see any damage at the time, but last time I took her out I noticed she wasn't behaving right so after a closer look, I realized I broke a lower front a-arm, bent the rod that holds it on and another screw. DOH! Don't know how I missed it the first time I checked, but sure wish I had missed the light pole! :ROFLMAO:

Ya
It was inevitable!
Already “straightened” the Ackerman arm
Had to fix the front shock , it pulled the nut off the shaft inside the shock
Replaced nut and new 1:2 black plunger thingy in shock , changed diff fluids in center and front
And started beating on it again with the new hoons
But I’m noticing if I don’t service all 3 diffs at the same time I get the rear end wobble when I let off the throttle!!!!
Causes serious difficulties in handling at least for me !!!!
So I’m thinking maybe more frequent service of rear diff fluid may help as well ???
It’s still a blast
And the demographic of people that stop by or pull over to ask about the felony is as much fun as driving it
People are really impressed by it !
It entertains me !
Also
Has anyone noticed QC issues with any white hoons
I mean
I’ve bought a bunch of them
Like a set of 4 every week since I got the felony
I have a couple sets that went to crap like really fast
One impartial still has the dots on one side but on the other side (180 deg) of tire the belt is coming out ?
It’s like it was out of balance from factory
I’ve got a couple sets like that
Didn’t know if it was my driving or crap tire ?
disclaimer ... I’m pretty hard on the vehicle!
like as much throttle as I can as often as I can
But I think that’s normal! 😁

Good update

I cannot say for the tires but wish there were more options like with the GRP on the rear.... Yep if throttle happy it's going to eat tires....

Understood
And I’m more than throttle happy !
I’ll get pics of above mentioned tire up later today
It’s not from excessive throttle....
If anything it would be from locking up brakes
It’s basically wore to belt on bottom side and still has dots on top ?
ill get pics up

Here are a couple of pics of the aforementioned hoons
Dots on one side
Belt sticking out on the other !!!!
Only one tire out of the 4 on this set was like that

They all usually look like this when I’m done 😁

Is this really a camber issue ?
For the rear ?
Just put a new set of hoons on today
Now Running 100k rear 100k center 30k front
I like the way it’s been handling this way !
However
One run , and only the rear left tire is wearing !
Not evenly all the way around but bald (no dots) ont the entire surface ( across the tire) of left rear tire , rotate tire 180 deg and you see nice new dots !!! ?
that’s camber ?
I Am starting to get a lot of slop or play in the rear hubs
But that still wouldn’t cause a bald spot on one side not left or right of tire but let’s say top and bottom ?
Would it ?
It looks like I locked up the brakes for a really really long time but only on one tire left rear ?
Either way !!!
I’m pretty sure I’m going thru tires like crazy !!!

tire rotated 180 or (bottom)

is this a lot of used hoons for one rig ? 🙁

Camber would be different wear on inner vs outer side of the tire, clearly visible in an earlier post.
That is not the issue for different wear on opposing sides of the tire, that is just breaking and tires locking up or sign of a heavily unbalanced tire.
I'd check shocks as well, you might have some oscillation going on.

I thought about just getting some hoons for the typhon !
I really wanted the Infraction....
but
I came home with this beast of a deal !!!
first on road RC for sure
Gonna toss some batteries in it and see what happens View attachment 126320View attachment 126321
A beast of a car mate 👍 and yep, they chew Tyres up in no time 😂 2 sets of batteries and mine are nearly done lol.
Service fluids etc are all listed in the manual pal, tho iam sure Many will probably use upgraded stuff to alter the ride and tighten the diffs. Diff can put more power through one wheel causing spin and eats the tyres rapidly.

Yet this is not the first set that I’ve purchased were as one tire out of the 4 is doing this !
Last 2 sets I bought did not do this !!
Could be a shock
I’m pretty sure I just serviced rear shocks not too long ago !
Ima keep an i on it and see if it continues on the same rear tire on the next set !
Honestly
It seems like a quality or lack there of with certain hoons !
I could very well be wrong
I’ll keep updating this thread !
Truth be told I’ve ran the crap out of the car but have tried to the best of my knowledge kept up with servicing diffs and such !

Why do I envision one of those late night lawyer commercials....Do you currently, or have you in the past, owned a Felony, that constantly ate tires? You may be entitled to damages... :ROFLMAO: 😶:ROFLMAO:

Lol
Ya no plans on civil suit or anything!
I’m just trying to understand why 1 out of 4 tires has abnormal in my opinion wear .
But
Do you know a good lawyer?

So you went to the store for milk…
and came home with prime rib and champagne 🤣
That is one beastly sweet car.

Are you truing the tire/wheels to make sure they are perfectly round and also balancing them (speed runner thing). Also if you are flat spotting the tires from slaming on the brakes your tires won't be round anymore. Also it messes the balance up. Nature of the beast with your driving style. Belts are coming through on the flat spotted side of the tire. If the belts coming through all the way around the tire it just means you wore it out .
