1260kv motor slower than my stock one why?

I put a mmx8s and castle 1260
46diff
30 pinion
On 6s I get up to 67
On 8s I get up to 72-73
What can I do I’m running ok 8s
Spektrum 100c 5000 mah batteries so I’m stuck my gearing is up there I’m thinking I have PPS mount I can go bigger but that means hotter! Should I take out the hand brake?

Because a stock motor is 2050kv and your new one is 1260kv. That’s a huge drop in KV, and if you don’t gear up to make up that delta, then of course it will be slower.

That’s right around what you can get on paper with that setup here’s what the gearing app says

Generally lower kv is slower but tons of torque but if you gear right you can get more speed as they can handle the load better.

kv is like the motor's electric gear ratio. The castle 1717-1260 is a much bigger motor than your stock one, it's just 'geared' with 39% lower torquey rpm's per volt. It will easily pull a 40T+ pinion up to 100mph without overheating.

You could probably gear it to a 34t spool and 30t pinion with no problem with that set up to get more speed, but Watch your Temps…

Get yourself some huge sage pinions 38-43T.
Or if you want to speedrun dedicatedly get yourself a spool with 29-34T instead of the 46t center diff. It's not wise to keep the center diff if you want 100+ speeds.
