The mmx8s would still be enough.
That vendetta would do crazy mph using even a castle mm2 esc and a 4050.
I've run 89mph on 4s and 103mph on 6s with wide suspension, an notorious body on 1/10 lwb chassis...same as vendetta..mmx6s tp4050-2300kv 26/38....that's with open wheels an not aero noto body.logs show there being alot more too...same setup with vendetta body would be different fosho

More weight an more power would be HARD on drivetrain.

I'm only shooting for 100ish on the drag strip, but the math works out (even better with the new 4080). Gonna probably need the steel diff gears and the new hot racing metal center driveshaft.

Nineball - Im not clued up on drag racing.
Do you race using tire prep and what cell will you be running?

Seems very exessive for that chassis but guess it can be part of the fun!

K-Bash
Thats great man. Yh might be even more in it.
And have you ever done 4s runs with a 6s motor?

I'll be using prep on the tires for sure, but getting access to a prepped track is tough. Maybe I'll get a chance or two this summer. Traction will the biggest difficulty. Otherwise it'll be a 6s car, for the open class. Limitless weighs too much for the goal.

Useing my highest kv motor I have right now..its a tp4050cm 2300kv 8s motor...will be getting a 2600-3200kv motor for setup I'm gonna build.put together a mod1 38t spool. Turns the 1/10 into a speed demon.pulling 130amps on 89mph 4s pass.ive pulled 210amps with mmx6s. Impressive for a NOT aerodynamic open wheel truck. Notorious body seams to hit aerodynamic wall into the 90s

Yh i was thinking traction would be a problem.
Could you possibly go as fast with less motor/esc due to that?

That sounds awesome.
Will you be keeping the mmx6s and whats your goal for that build?

I was origonally gonna get a 4050 for the Typhon buggy as thought it was plenty enough to get me to target, 120 mph on 4s.

The tp 4040 2900kv looks interesting and 4050 2y.

Been trying to figure that out... it looks like some of the 56/58mm motors could do it on 4s, but those wont fit in the 3s chassis. Calculations ( https://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/speed_amp.html ) call for 8700W, 345A, and 2450kv minimum for my goal (100mph in 1.5s, actually somewhat average from other builds I've seen). I think I'm going to be pushing the 3s chassis to the max, finding out exactly where the line is where you'd need a limitless to go faster. Gonna be hoping the aftermarket likes the vendetta, cause I'm not sure stock toe settings and such will be ideal. But I think a fully kitted vendetta on 6s should be cheaper than a limitless with all the carbon fiber bits to save weight... maybe. I guess I need to see how good my tax returns are going to be...

My plan is to do a 130+vendetta..figured mod1 would be the way to go after looking at calculator and figured I'd need about 40t spur.built spool an not the cleanest job...but has surprisingly stayed together so far....turns the 1/10 rides into screamers.....so fun, cheap,an
something new.instead of running 1000$
1/7,,1/8 setup throu crappy whether...im having a blast with this 450ish 1/10 senton I park bashed with....I think the mmx6s is plenty with right motor....much less ampdraw with this 1/10 compared to 1/8 rides, truck weights little over pound less than 1/8 ..lol. rear diff feels like it's about outa diff fluid, front feels tight..I only use 1million, or 30mill fluid..its going so strait,it's a blast....back to back 100ish mph pass👍here a thread I started on this truck

I was gonna say throw a 56 can in for s joke lol
But you are really considering it.
And a 56 can on 4s? What kv?
A 8s motor?

If you gonna do all that and send a bucket load of cash, why not get a dedicated 4s motor?

Basically, I can't find a good one. Aiming for a speed is one thing, getting there in 132ft is a bit tricky. Out of all the numbers I ran, 6s seems to be the answer. 4s would need to pull 600+ amps, and the only motors wound to run that are 56 or 58mm. Best I found was the TP 5660 3D/2698kv @ 520A. Unless I'm missing something and running a motor undervolted isnt as much a hindrance as I expect.

i ordered a 5680 along with my 4080 for my limitless world record project

Oh, I thought u mentioned youd be running 4s .

Like i say i don't know much about drag racing or the calculations you are doing.

Have you built and race drag cars before,
I would think any 56 can or big 40 can TP would be alot of power in that car.

Any buddy, Good luck with your quest for power!

Haha, im not sure what to put mine in either.

I brought a 5670cm a few weeks ago and was gonna put in a hobao GTB, but i don't think there are any 1/5 mounts for them.
My wallet is screening…

I have ordered so many parts…

Still isn’t everything…

I was already looking at the 4070cm 2950kv ( https://www.tppowerusa.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=20_135_149&product_id=518 ) but this looks to be a tiny bit more powerful. 11,000W = >14HP.

...and my tape measure says it'll still fit in the Vendetta chassis.

...but will I be able to get away with running a MMX8S/Max6 or will I be forced to go XLX2?
I think the 4080 you will need a xlx2,
My vendetta I’m using a 4050 and mmx8s and that 4050 has pulled 400amps on 6s.
I did a best of 145mph before winter hit

400A is a lot. But it also isnt. Even the lowly Max6 has a max amp draw rating of 1050A. And for drag racing, with a pass lasting less than 2 seconds... well, I might be able to get by with the regular old Mamba X, even. But I'm not trying to build a bomb.

You might be dissapointed using anything less than mm8s or xlx.
Especially with the motors you've mentioned.

My friends max6 cudnt get past 114mph in a limitless on 8s.
Kept shutting down.
