I really just didn't want to put them back on.. I've actually added way more with my body reinforcements!!🤣🤣 I went totally overboard. 1/8" lexan on top and under the bed of the truck body..it's ridiculous 🤣

First tail landing, I can see the destruction already🤣🤣
Dang well for the price of these bodies you’d hope Traxxas would’ve solved this by now. I’ve seen brand new bodies last only 1 run without reinforcements. Such a shame

I'm trying to be proactive. It's still solid. It's a sacrificial part I guess..just that they're quite expensive IMO. I do luck the indestructible body you have👍 with this war, who knows if we'll be able to get them again.

There were some talks of making bodies here in the US but who knows when that’ll happen. It’s always been difficult to get these bodies even before the war. I think I paid only $100 for mine so it came out cheaper than a original

Got the Arrma backflips installed! It’s still wide but it LOOKS much more proportional

So lightweight for their size and they fit perfect

They look so good I mean wow 🤤

No rubbing issues at all with the 10mm extended hubs. Actually I believe the Backflips offset is 12.7mm so even with the extended hubs it’s about a 1/4 inch narrower now

The black and white look great IMO. I think you should get some black vinyl sheet and cut to fit the windows? That will really set it off IMO... sweet rig man😎
I'm referring to the vinyl adhesive sheet they sell for the cricut type machines.

Thanks! And that’s a great idea I don’t like how the windows look right now. The stickers I put on aren’t sticking that well to this type of plastic, I’ll have to find some sort if industrial strength vinyl. I think I still have some left over from when I wrapped the hood of my car

Yeah, I seem to remember now that things don't stick to that plastic very well.. I'm sure you'll figure something out.
I was looking over this thread, and remember you asking what you "didn't " forget to put back in..that must've sucked!! 🤪 I have had the front and rear sections off a couple times already myself. Hopefully you only had to pull one end off to get the shaft in?

I still haven’t put it in lol but yes luckily the xmaxx comes apart easily. I really want that M2C driveshaft to be released already! I wonder how much it’ll cost

I did the AJCmods split drive shaft that @Armarookie43 turned me onto. I never had an issue(yet) with stock, just being proactive I guess.
TBH, the AJCmods kit is literally super easy diy if you have a 3d printer.. which I do have a couple but I didn't realize how simple the kit actually is.

With this mod are you able to install the driveshaft without pulling apart the bulkheads?

I see Thunder RC on YT has a vid for making the wobble shaft, but wonder if its a good idea without supports? The chassis does form a "tunnel" around the shaft by design. It might actually be possible to pull that apart w/o pulling a bulk head? But, I agree with @Armarookie43 that pulling one end off the truck isn't too bad to do.

B&M hobbywing switch holder, this is the only 3d printed part I’ll have on this truck. Fits very nicely

For those wondering here’s how much clearance the Arrma Backflips have with the 10mm hexes

Yes unfortunately I sold my 3D printer otherwise I could’ve made it myself. I’ve always just taped the switches but I really don’t want anymore tape on my cars. And yeah definitely look into those stub axles, these wheels are so good! The quality with these parts is great, and actually these stub axles are machined so that you can run 3 bearings (he’s going to release aluminum axle carriers soon). I’ll likely stick with the plastic but it’s a cool feature to have. And I like knowing I can blow through these tires and pick up another set on jrc for only $85 and not many xmaxx’s run them so it’s a different look.

My gears came in, I’m using the Vitavon triple bearing 30t spur setup with a 23t WFO pinion. The spur kit is surprisingly lightweight and I’m happy about that. The WFO pinion is super heavy, but it’s the only 8mm D-bore M1.5 pinion I could find.

Here’s the little support bearing thingy, this should help protect the shaft from bending. Turned out my brand new GPM spur shaft came pre-bent from factory. It’s not really visible to the eye but you can feel it bind when it spins

Only a few more things left to do

Did you end up going with the JBI wheel nuts?
Not yet, but am thinking I will get the jbi nuts.
They are cheaper than rc monster by a bit. Shipping is steep from jbi though.
I realized that using the adapter nuts, the stub axles aren't actually visible so color not gonna matter to me. My X is green.
