Arrma RC's
  1. Kraton 6s
  2. Senton 6s
I wanted to know what did you build by yourself instead of buying it?
I'm looking for some ideas ?

Here's what I did so far.

Servo mount(original mount with a aluminum plate, and screws from both sides)
Rollcage senton 3s(from the leftover rearbumber)
Black inforcement plastic on the Ford body(Ikea hanger cut)
Tower 2 tower with 2 tubes(6mm 1.5mm hydraulic tube)
Led light from an old flashlight
Reinforced my center driveshaft (with a tube I pressed on)

That’s inventive! Good job! Way cheaper I’d imagine! Everything working out pretty well?

how’d you cut the servo mount?
U mean the plate? I thrilled many small holes, and pushed it through. Then I filed away the rest.

Yeah It works well so far. Sure some things needed to be done a 2. Time to make it better. Learning by doing, I'd say.

Just take a look at my mudguards. I did some out of acryl the first time. Went out and bashed, and there were suddenly gone ??

This is a great idea. Hopefully many will chime in. Is it diy only or parts that you made work but didn’t necessarily belong to the car???

There were many, these are the the ones that still work:
-Mud guards (Noto and Typhon 6s)
-T2T (no contact to towers, secured to chassis braces)
-Motor support
-Dusty cover
-phone mount on radio for video

That motor support is a great idea, my blx v1can just fell of after a hard hit. Had to bold m3 screws into it, to make it work again.

That's the kind of stuff I'm looking for here???

Pretty slow, if you consider that God needed 7 days for the world ??????

Well, I got hung up on that stupid colosseum. First I made it square, then a rectangle, then back to square but I just couldn’t get it right. I was getting pretty aggravated and then all of a sudden a bird pooped from the sky and the droppings landed in my bowl of Fruit Loops and BAM EUREKA!!!!! The bowl! I figured it out, I will make it round! And so I did and the rest is history.

On a more serious and relevant note, here is the fan mod I did on my MMX. This isn’t my design though, I copied it from @0verkill, he did all the upfront design work and figured it out.

Here it is mounted.
Lexan glued to shroud. Shroud and lexan scuffed to aid bonding.
- 2 screws holding fan to 1/8” lexan.
- 2 zip ties holding fan to 1/8” lexan and also holding the 1/8” lexan to shroud.
- 1 zip tie holding MMX case to ESC mounting plate as well two-sided tape. I think I cracked one of the fan shroud locking mounting tabs.

I don't know how it originally was, but that looks sweet. We're there a fan in the first place? That thing looks like it has some power.

And yeah Rome is another story. Do you know the German ber in Berlin? It's an airport which were supposed to be ready in 2011? But we always fail to finish it, because we Germans have rules for rules for rules. Our bureaucracy is famous for being fast??

I make things by trade as a Prototyping Technician but love doing what I can at home as well for RC, 1:1 scale cars, our house and more.

Will keep it Arrma related so here is a lot of stuff I made myself for my 6S Typhon last year. ;)

Got lots of speed running projects in progress as well to keep me busy including some Arrma like the Limitless but also other RC stuff like this 1/12th scale Serpent S120LTX which I'm making a carbon fibre mounted tray for it so that it will be able to run 3S.

Awesome stuff @Mr.Duke. Are you a 1:1 builder as well, or are you just fabbing parts for someone else's build?
I grew up drag racing and built quite a few 1:1 from the early 1990’s until about 2011 when we had our daughter. I stayed in the shop or at the track almost every night and knew that I needed to shift my focus on family once she came along, so I got out and retired from it.
In 2006, built my Dad his dream car, a replica 427 Shelby Cobra that he still takes out on nice Sundays. When he’s done playing with it I’ll update it again and let it be my old man Sunday cruiser.

Yeah, it comes with the fan mounted up on the inside of the shroud. It’s not the best fan anyway plus I broke a blade on it. I run high-ish gearing and run on hills on the grass so temps climb quickly. This fan however moves some serious air.
Here is the video I made for another member that was asking about the fan itself.

The truck itself is really quick and accelerates really fast. Against the Kraton with same battery, pinion, tires and punch it smoked my Kraton. Kraton has stock BLX185 system in it though.

And hey, at least when you Germans do finish something it is always engineered brilliantly.
