Notorious I have some work to do....

I have ran maybe 30 packs or so thru it, (SMC 6s 7400 MaH 90c, around an hr or so each pack) and so far the servo is the only thing on mine that has broke/been an issue.

Yea- not going to lie, I don't get it either. I drive it hard on the throttle, but in 4 partial battery packs I have broke a lot of stuff.

Front pins coming out were all me, left the part off the holds them in- so I accept the broken-arm, chewed up diff outdrive.

Broken wing mount? Me.

But the melted stock center diff at 3 packs or less on the stock gearing? Yea I floor it and wheelie as far as I can or see how fast I can haul ass- 6s, but should I not?

Broken rear diff gear on the 4th pack, 14 pinion, Yea still flooring it and wheeling as far as I can or see how fast I can haul ass- 6s, but should I not?

Both front tires came off the rims..tried re-attaching, came off pretty much right away again- bought new ones, ran less than half a battery pack and now the rears are starting to come loose in some spots?

Broken servo..ugh.

I'm going to keep upgrading what I manage to break to the best of my ability. Don't know if it will ever be Josh-proof.

I noticed the wheels on the T-bone wheelie bar don't spin anymore.

I might look into whatever the new Kraton tires are. Maybe they are more durable than the backflips for my BLAST the throttle method. Less sidewall maybe less ballooning pulling them off the rim?

Or, despite my best efforts, time, money- Arrma may have met it's match. :)

This actually might bleed over into that kids can it handle 6S thread.

Can it handle ham fisted wide open see how fast, how far wheelie, just flat out WOT as far as the field/area allows.

Soo far for me- NO.

I'm not even breaking it from jumps, just the force of the motor rotational force on the diffs, gears, tires it seems....

We'll see how it holds together after this next influx of parts.

It's definitely not "Johnny" proof, but I've destroyed real excavators, dozers, skid steers and a host of other heavy duty construction equipment. Anything with a motor, electric, gas or diesel, they've all succumbed to the wrath of Johnny. Only my bicycles seem to hold up to my abuse. I will never blame a manufacturer for the failure of the product, but would love it if they hired me to put them through the "Johnny" test first, and find out what they're really made of ???

Crash test Johnny should be your new name.

No joke. I have no mechanical sympathy.

If something breaks- it just means one part was built with more power than the other parts. My inclination is to upgrade the other parts to handle the power. Of course I always upgrade the main source of power as well- I can't leave anything stock.

Opened the stock servo- had a nice sparkly paste with tell tale glitter of metal in it.

No- not a rod bearing. ;)

Just ordered servo SAVSB2292SG

Well, I wasn’t expecting to use this mason jar screen anytime soon, especially not after only maybe 1/4 of a pack worth of battery run.

Oh well – gives me an excuse to re-shim the diff with the new V4 specifications.

Well F ME.

I didn’t just break the gear- the pin broke as well!!

That puts a big delay in the project. I have spare gears, washers center pins, gaskets.... but never would have thought the little pin would break. UGGH.

I didn’t just break the little pin, I managed to break it in three parts!

Each end snapped off, and the center section is still lodged in my outdrive cup!!

The outdrive cup on both ends of the diff required putting in a vice and using a punch and a hammer to remove.

Technically they should slide right in and out and the pin holds them in a place but they had managed to distort enough that I could not remove them by hand.

WTF?

Send these pics to Horizon right away. Those difs look like they were put in on cock-eyed.

I am not one to warranty parts on a toy normally- but at this point I have spent a LOT of time, and money to keep buying more parts just to have continual part failures.

I have only had the truck since January. If you add up my total run time, I'd bet it would be less than 1 of my battery packs if I was able to run it from start to finish.

It - just - keeps - breaking.

Yes, I am spending more for upgraded parts hoping not to have failures again in the future, but lots of this is just WTF- melted center diff, grenaded rear diff, both front tires coming off...

The only thing I am guilty of is full throttle across a lawn seeing how fast I can go. Yea- 6S makes power and heat, but if it is sold as 6S it should not pretty much instantly and continually break numerous parts.

SO- I am fed up and just sent an email to Horrizon. We will see what they say.

My friend just sent me a text message. He said- "Wow- if you like changing parts so much why didn't you just buy a Traxxas?"

:(

Just for record of broken parts in about an hour of cumulative run time-

Broke the rear wing mounts first time out cartwheeling- but I guess it is my fault for the car cartwheeling- although the Arrma videos of the same car showing it doing the same thing. Drive the car quickly across the yard and it will flip and roll and the wheelie bar/ wing mounts break. They should show the bar snap off and fly away in the video. ;)

Broke a front A-arm AND a rear A-arm. Bought RPM to replace.

Chewed up the front diff outdrive when the A-arm broke. Bought a new one.

Melted center diff- https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/i-have-some-work-to-do.11063/post-131403 Bought HR case and rebuilt.

Grenaded rear diff- https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/i-have-some-work-to-do.11063/post-139173 Bought another HR case, still need to order internal parts.

Broken front diff casing- https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/i-have-some-work-to-do.11063/post-126138 Bought HR case and rebuilt.

More rear diff- broken pin (into 3 pieces!) lodged in diff outdrive https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/i-have-some-work-to-do.11063/post-139176

Both front tires ripped off the rims, I tried reglueing- didn't help, came right off again- https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/i-have-some-work-to-do.11063/post-135736\ So I bought 2 new tire/wheels.

Rear tires are starting to come loose in spots- so I am starting to look for sturdier smaller tires less prone to balloon on 6S while throttle floored. Not happy.

Broken servo, gears stripped- https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/i-have-some-work-to-do.11063/post-139187 Bought a Savox for $$$ fingers crossed.

Broken rear brace mount - https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/i-have-some-work-to-do.11063/post-137513 Bought a Voltage hobby metal piece.

Everybody said these cars are durable - I must have really bad luck!

So after just finding the gear and pin broken into 3 pieces, and lodged into the outdrive- I am about to order more diff parts, seals, pin, outdrive, etc.

My biggest issue as you can see is all 3 diffs failing. I'm really hoping the HR cases and the new V4 shims I just received and will install will solve the problems. After that- tires that don't come off the wheel.

I am not happy.

The Notorious/Outcast is my least favorite 6s Arrma truck. I feel it is the most likely to break. This has to do with how the SWB and big tires react to hamfisted 6s throttle inputs. It is very easy to get out of shape with this truck. It's fast, but handles like a dump truck. It's a pain in the ass to work on. I have to take the side mud guards off just to slide the motor out. This truck has a very limited scope. It's a stunt truck. It's great at doing flips. Not so much for anything else. If I wouldn't take a beating I'd just sell mine or break it down for parts. I have a brand new Talion that I have been beating the snot out of. Diffs are fine and they are the old ones - and I didn't even shim them! No broken A-arms and I have cartwheeled it plenty. Ask @Notorious J . I sent him unedited video of me launching it over and over - with some pretty bad landings. The Notorious is my best looking truck. I love the way it looks. I hate the way it drives.

I'm not having nearly as much bad luck as @PowerDubs. I haven't had any issues with the difs, but I did change my center to Hot Racing for piece of mind. I eliminated the rear wing and wheelie bar, because, well, it's just not built to handle the amount of rolls that the Notorious and Outcast are destined to take. The new TBR wheelie bar is a huge improvement, but that comes with the loss of the wing, which is a statement on these trucks. I've snapped a couple (or more) of rear arms, right at the hinge pins. This is definitely a flaw in the design, as they seem to split on the outside edge, where the mold comes together to create the slot for the pins to slide through. The same type of break occurred on both front upper arms. My latest issue is the front suspension stretching out far enough to have the drive shafts pop out of the out drives. It was one at a time at first, but my latest landing on four wheels, popped both out at the same time. I'm gonna try different shock oil weight and different settings for the height. Hope this helps resolve some of these issues. Shock ends breaking seems like more of a nuisance than anything else. @bicketybam ran his Noto with some different tires, and noticed a big improvement over the backflips. I have run my truck to lvc many times, and that says a lot. Could it be better? Sure. Is it terrible? Nope. Is it the right truck as an everyday basher? I think the Talion or Kraton would be better suited. As I get better with control, I'm hoping the truck has less issues. A new setup on the suspension, some RPM arms, and maybe a different set of tires, and I think the Noto and I will get along fine. I hope that @PowerDubs gets through this latest round of setbacks, and has some good times ahead.

The Talion is a machine. Not only can it fly like it has wings, but it is almost bulletproof when you don't stick the landings. In the video @bicketybam mentioned, I actually squirmed when I saw how badly the Talion landed on some of the jumps. Each time, it just kept on going like nothing had happened. These were jumps at full speed and close to 60 feet from the ramps (61 on one of them?). Tumbling through the air and landing hard on the outside of one wheel. My Noto broke a suspension arm just watching the video. After watching this video by @bicketybam, plus the two new videos by Rich Duperbash and Rc Dude81, the Talion is steadily climbing to take its place as king of the Arrma hill.

my kraton has never gave me this many problems the only difference is the ability to have more control over it the noto is just all over the place man it's a wild little truck... are builds are almost identical and mine even has more weight to it ! I did notice the added traction of the backflips in grass has put a good bit of stress on my diffs iv had my pin break and gear bust in three places twice since I put the backflips on but main cause was I was landing under throttle off jumps... going to try the copperhead2 tires soon see if they make any difference but idk man I hate your having all the problems what is your punch settings at I have mine at nine idk if it will help you but I would try turning it down it will help with the diff issues on 6s

My punch setting was stock until my last time out after the big rebuild. I put it on 6 since we were going to a soccer field to drag race.

Dam @PowerDubs i had a leaky center diff out the box but not this much carnage. LOL i run 6s all day maybe 15 packs in and knock on wood but no breakage (im sure i just jinxed myself lol). Punch setting is still stock as i cant keep the wheels down with my 16t and she back flips on command.

Well, yesterday I just had my second breakage. I also have had the punch at stock, till last night when I got the idea to see what punch 9 is like. Did a backflip in my yard, like it wasn't sh!t. Tried to do a backflip in my driveway, and busted the rear diff the same way you did.
