Drove my new Infraction tonight. Pretty fun parking lot basher. I'll probably keep it stock.
I think the hand brake servo is kind of a gimmick though lol

Speaking of my infraction....rear end starts to shimmy at high speeds sometimes....is that a sign of the diff needing shims?

Depends on a lot of things
Woke up to a beautiful sight, then destroyed it 😃😆

I ran a shake-down 6s test pack thru Typhon #3 to see if the HR 36T Spool I built would fall apart. No issues so far, other than needing to find a better spot with more room because 24/36 gearing is pretty nuts compared to my previous highest 25/46 gearing. :devilish:

* I just got a couple 40T spurs yesterday, and have a couple 42T spurs arriving Tuesday, so I can slow it (and other cars I plan to spool) back down to a proper bashing gear ratio.
** I just ordered some more 40/42 spurs, assorted pinions, outdrives, and spools to build a couple more of those for some of my other 6s cars and to slow down my 4s/6s Drag Slashes that are running M1 gears.

Is anyone watching the Psycho Nitro Blast on LiveRC Youtube? What a crazy track.

Had an excellent RC drive bash this Sunday. Best Bud on his property:

My 3 to his 4
My Talion EXB on 6S against his Typhon v5 6S
My Fireteam on 6S against his XMaxx on 8S
My Fireteam on 6S against his Losi DBXL on 8S
My Kraton EXB on 4S against his ERevo 2.0 on 6S

Temp today was 72-74F. No humidity yet in the south

Kraton 130F ESC, 115F motor for all runs nothing over 150F either
Talion 110F ESC, 120 motor for all runs, nothing over 130F either
Fireteam 135F ESC, 110 ESC, nothing over 140F

A great match-up even with all this lipo power due to my gearing change and lighter weight excvellent dog fight. His ERevo had thermal cut-off on all runs. ERevo ESC was 180F, and his motor was 201F he is all stock on electronics. The others did better not as low as mine with the RCP fans.

Only damage I have is a tooth missing from the Talion EXB 16T pinion. I will get something better than the Arrma pinion!

Ready for the drive to the country

Loaded up on the ranch ready to offload and bash. My 3 rigs are on the passenger side of the trailer

All the battery pack ran today happy to only have this as a damage report. Bad pinion

The RCP fans are doing great. I know I get called out for the covers but they block the dead leaves and sticks great...temps are very low I ran them all day never when higher than posted..

I drove my TLR Typhon on 6S, using Duratrax SpeedTread "Robber" tires. Fantastic grip on asphalt, but they aren't belted so I wouldn't recommend them for speed running.
Batteries were huge, rear of the body couldn't be clipped down lol.

61 mph top speed.

gears?

I have had some of my Typhons (and my Infraction, and my Vendetta) up near 70 in the short time I have had them depending on the gears and wheel diameter/weight. Katar <-> 42/100 Hoons and 20/50 <-> 25/46 gears.

I took one out today with a shakedown on a 24/36 HR spool and GRP XM7s but I didn't bother with the GPS until I was sure the screws on the spool wouldn't back out. It is stupidly fast compared to the 25/46 on my Infraction.

Yes the car has gears
ok, what was your pinion and spur size in teeth number please, if u don't mind?

cuz that is way too slow for that car. Are you still using stock pinion and spur size?

Lol I was just being facetious and sarcastic.

Yeah it's all stock gearing. Not sure the teeth number off the top of my head. And also to be fair, the batteries I had were way too big and heavy for the car lol. I have to find a smaller 6S battery configuration.

FYI the installed pinion is 16T, included speed pinion is 20T, and the stock Typhon Spur is 50T. I got 68 MPH on concrete with stock wheels and 20/50 included gearing on an otherwise stock 'truggified' Typhon and I doubt I held full throttle very long, if at all considering <1219' for the pull/stop distance.

If you gear it up to 25/46 like an Infraction, or higher with a spool, it is a rocket but the motor won't like you bashing on it probably even with dual fans. ;)

Sweet!
I'm probably gonna keep the stock gearing on it, I want to use it as a race buggy.
Yep, you can't go wrong with stock gearing for bashing, which I assume is similar in terms of requirements to racing.

I have a public park a 5-minute walk away with baseball and soccer fields but I hate cleaning my cars so my cars stay on asphalt and concrete mostly, with small wheels, most of the time...... like this Typhon with 24/36 gears. I haven't tested speeds or acceleration yet, today was just a shakedown to make sure my HR Spool/Spur didn't fall apart... This thing is bananas, it was drifting '11' black marks all over the concrete! 💪

Finally got my 1st street bashing in this season. 🥳 Son had track practice at the local college....which means tons of big open parking lots. Took Taz out and had a blast!! Need to raise the front some as the tires are rubbin' the inside of the wheel well on turns. Other than that it was a great 30 min run time!! 82°, but cool breeze, cloud cover and it being evening, it was perfect weather. (y)😁
