Bought a 1/4" drive 17mm driver to use in place of a knuckle banger one I have and an actual socket on a 3/8's drive that likes to get stuck/pop off. Only to find that it doesn't fit my traxxas wheels... spent an hour with it chucked in a drill and a finger belt sander to make it a bit thinner and a dremel to cut about 1.5mm off the end to get rid of the recessed part of it so it gets better purchase on the nut. Was way more annoying to deal with than I had hoped... fit's now though:

Updated the 10mm. I seem to run into grizzlies more when it's dark, so I added a light. I also have a much harder time picking up my front sight at night (even with tritium), so I've been shopping holographics. I have a tendency to "fish" with my sig pro, and I've been kinda liking the looks of the delta micros, so I figgered why not...

I like the cowitness, and sight picture. I also suspect that even if I lose power it'll still work as a ghost ring rear. Now to put a few hundred through it and get used to it. ❤️

You don't just get out your Rambo knife and tackle the grizzly? I'm very disappointed.

Slapped a spare set of shocks onto the senton

Sadly, I suspect it'll all get swapped out with the 1080/trailmaster and be a budget brushed build. I gotta get this v3 built...

Had to remove the rear tower.. Not much bolt to get hold of, but I'm not worried as these pliers are the best..!!

I’m not sure if you’re the one that mentioned those types of pliers… but I got a Engineer brand pair recently and they have saved my butt numerous times with issues like that. I just found that there is a small version for tiny screws and tight places. I must get that one soon.

Redneck (truck) Revival.
Back to basics. I have two basket case voltages left so I took them apart, took the best condition parts, sorted through my box of miscellaneous stuff and revived the redneck truck.

I put the mega brushed motor/esc from the mini-infraction I recently got in it. The motor is huge compared to the tiny stock voltage motor. I built the shocks from a box of miscellaneous shock parts. I wanted to give it a relatively short, firm suspension set up while still having enough travel for mild off-road. Using a 17t pinion and I am hoping there’s not so much torque that it busts the differential.

(Later…) It runs great!! Pretty fast as well. I ran it for 20 minutes and the thing exceeded my expectations. Then all the park kids appeared and I included it in the mix of rc cars for them to play with. The truck ran for over an hour on a 5200mah 2s battery…well it was on 50% power much of the time while the kids were beating on it.
